Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mitac Mio Moov 150 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (338937010159)
This 3.7V 720mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Mitac Mio Moov 150 portable GPS navigator. It fits the internal battery bay directly and restores power to the touchscreen display and GPS receiver. OEM part numbers 338937010159 and 078512FAC both cross to this cell.
- Mio Moov 150 fit: The Moov 150 uses a compact 50 × 35 × 6mm cell with a low-current draw profile — the GPS receiver and display together pull well under 500mA during active navigation. This cell matches that envelope and the connector orientation of the original.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Moov 150 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, held voltage stable during satellite acquisition, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without unexpected shutdowns.
- First power-on after fitting: After installing this cell, take the unit outdoors and power it on with a clear sky view. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power removal — first satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once almanac data is cached.
Satellite lock taking longer after fitting a new battery
Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's cached almanac and ephemeris data — the timing and position data satellites broadcast. Without that cache, the receiver has to download a full set from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. This is a cold start, not a fault with the battery or the unit. Once the fix is acquired and the device is powered down normally, subsequent starts pull from the stored almanac and lock in under a minute. If the first fix takes longer than 12 minutes, reposition the device flat on a car dashboard away from tinted glass.
Moov 150 shutting off without any low-battery warning
The Moov 150's fuel gauge reads relative to a calibrated baseline — when a new cell is fitted, that baseline is gone and the indicator is uncalibrated. The device may show two or three bars and then cut off immediately because the low-voltage cutoff threshold is hit before the on-screen indicator catches up. To recalibrate, run a full charge to 4.2V on a charger, then use active navigation until the unit shuts off naturally. After one full cycle the indicator tracks real charge state and the warning appears at the correct level.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Mio Moov 150 lost all my saved routes and favourites after I replaced the battery — is that normal?
Yes. The Moov 150 stores saved routes and points of interest in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal — which happens during a battery swap — wipes that volatile memory. Settings stored to internal flash (maps, language, home address in some firmware versions) survive, but session-saved routes do not. Back up favourites via the device's PC sync software before swapping the cell next time, and re-enter any routes you need immediately after the first successful satellite fix.
My Moov 150 battery drains noticeably faster during turn-by-turn navigation than when the screen is idle — is something wrong with the replacement cell?
Nothing is wrong. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full poll rate and keeps the backlit display on continuously — together those two loads draw significantly more current than standby. The 720mAh cell is matched to the original spec, so the draw profile is identical to what Mitac shipped. Drop screen brightness to its lowest readable level in the display settings to reduce the display load, which is the larger of the two current draws during navigation.
After fitting the new battery, the Moov 150's GPS accuracy looks off — positions are jumping or showing me on the wrong road. Will it settle?
This is a cold-start artefact, not a hardware fault. Without cached almanac data, the receiver is working from a rough position estimate and raw satellite signals, so the first few position fixes have wider error margins. Accuracy tightens as the receiver collects more satellite data — typically within 2–3 minutes of acquiring the initial lock. Leave the unit stationary outdoors with a clear sky view until the position dot stops jumping, then start moving. If the jumping continues after 5 minutes of lock, check that the unit is not placed under a tinted windscreen, which attenuates the L1 GPS signal.
