Fits Navigon Triansonic PNA 4000 GPS navigator; replaces OEM part numbers 541380530006, BL-LP1230/11-D00001U, 541380530005, BP-LP1200/11-D0001 MX, G025M-AB, and G025A-AB.
Delivers 3.7V and 1700mAh capacity for sustained turn-by-turn navigation and route storage on this portable automotive GPS unit.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment with single locking tab; orientation marked on device housing.
We bench tested this cell with live satellite acquisition and active navigation mode — BMS accepted charge on first cycle with no cutoff anomalies.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first lock versus under a minute on warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navigon Triansonic PNA 4000 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (541380530006)

This 3.7V Li-ion cell at 1700mAh replaces the original battery in the Navigon Triansonic PNA 4000 portable GPS navigator. It restores power to the unit when the factory cell can no longer hold a charge. Voltage and connector match the original spec.

  • Triansonic PNA 4000 compatibility: The PNA 4000 uses a fixed 3.7V single-cell architecture with a specific connector and BMS handshake. This cell matches that voltage rail and connector pinout, so the device powers on and communicates with the battery management circuit correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the PNA 4000 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes. Charge termination triggered cleanly at 4.2V as expected for standard Li-ion chemistry.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell and powering on for the first time, take the unit outdoors and let it run. The GPS performs a full cold start after any power interruption — first satellite lock can take 5–10 minutes outdoors. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the PNA 4000

When the PNA 4000 battery voltage drops toward the lower threshold, the device can reduce power to the GPS receiver module to extend remaining operation. This causes position drift or wider accuracy circles on the map display. It is not a hardware fault — it is a power-management behaviour tied to receiver sensitivity. Keeping the battery above 3.6V during active navigation prevents the unit from entering this reduced-sensitivity state.

PNA 4000 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator reaches empty

This happens because the battery percentage indicator relies on a voltage-to-capacity curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell — or a degraded one — can sit at a different actual voltage than the indicator expects, so the low-battery warning fires late or not at all. The device hits the hardware cutoff threshold before the visual warning appears. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle after fitting the new cell to let the firmware recalibrate the curve against the actual resting voltage at each state of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navigon PNA 4000 lost all my saved routes and favourites after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The PNA 4000 stores some route and POI data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal wipes that volatile memory. Saved items written to internal flash survive the swap, but anything not yet committed to flash — recent searches, unsaved routes — is gone. Check the device's save settings and manually export routes to the SD card before any future battery work to avoid the same loss.

My PNA 4000 is taking forever to find satellites after the battery replacement — did something go wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's ephemeris and almanac cache, forcing a cold start on next power-on. A cold start outdoors with clear sky view takes 5–10 minutes for first lock. Once the unit has re-downloaded almanac data from the satellites, warm starts drop to under a minute. Leave the device stationary with a clear sky view for the first fix — moving the unit during acquisition extends the lock time further.

Why does my PNA 4000 drain so much faster when I'm actively navigating compared to when it's just sitting idle?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, the route-calculation processor, and the backlit display simultaneously — that combination draws significantly more current than standby. The display at full brightness is often the single largest draw. Reduce screen brightness to around 50–60% during daytime use and the power draw drops noticeably without affecting map readability on the PNA 4000's screen size.
