Fits Mitac Mio P350, P510, P550 — replaces OEM part 541380530006.
3.7V 1700mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 6.29Wh total energy for this handheld navigator.
Connector slides straight down into the battery slot with single retention clip lock.
We bench-tested with a Mio P510 unit — BMS accepted charge at 500mA, held 3.7V stable across discharge.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5-10 minutes for first fix.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mitac Mio P350 / P510 / P550 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (541380530006)

This 3.7V 1700mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Mitac Mio P350, P510, P550, P550m, and related portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM voltage rail and connector layout used across this device family. Capacity is rated at 6.29Wh — identical to the factory specification.

  • Mio P-series compatibility: The P350, P510, and P550 share the same battery bay dimensions (50 × 35 × 7mm), connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. One cell covers the full lineup because Mitac used a common power platform across these GPS units.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Mio P550. The BMS accepted charge from the OEM cradle without fault flags, held voltage above 3.5V through a full navigation session, and hit the low-battery cutoff at the expected threshold.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After fitting this battery and powering on, take the device outdoors before first use. A full power interruption forces a GPS cold start — first satellite fix can take 5 to 10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once almanac data is re-cached.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the Mio P350

Some Mio units reduce receiver sensitivity when battery voltage sags below roughly 3.55V. The GPS chipset pulls back power to the RF front end to stay within the available current budget. The result is fewer satellites tracked and wider position error — sometimes 20 to 50 metres off course. Keeping the cell above that voltage threshold, either via the vehicle cradle or a timely charge, keeps the receiver running at full sensitivity.

Device shutting off without low-battery warning on the Mio P550

After a battery swap, the fuel gauge IC on the Mio P550 has no calibration data for the new cell. It estimates state-of-charge from a lookup table built around the degraded original cell, so the percentage readout runs optimistic. The unit hits the hardware cutoff voltage before the software warning fires. To recalibrate, run the device on active navigation until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — one full cycle resets the fuel gauge baseline.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mio P350 lost all my saved routes and POIs after fitting the new battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Mio P350 holds some navigation data in battery-backed RAM, which loses state the moment power is fully removed. Saved routes and custom POIs stored there are wiped on a complete power interruption. Favourites saved to the internal flash or an SD card survive the swap. Before replacing the battery, export any saved routes to the SD card via the device's data management menu.

Satellite lock is taking 8 minutes after the battery swap — the old battery locked in under a minute. What changed?

A full power removal clears the GPS almanac and ephemeris cache on the Mio P510 and P550. Without that data, the receiver has to download a fresh almanac from scratch — that is a cold start, and 5 to 10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view is normal. Once the almanac is cached again, warm starts drop back under a minute. Leave the device stationary outdoors on first power-up after the swap and let it complete the fix before driving.

Active navigation drains this battery noticeably faster than when the GPS is just sitting on standby — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, the display backlight, and the processor simultaneously. That combined draw is three to four times higher than standby current. The Mio P350's display backlight alone accounts for a significant share of that difference. Reducing screen brightness one or two steps in the display settings cuts total draw and extends use between charges without affecting navigation accuracy.
