Fits Navman Pin GPS navigator; replaces OEM part 541380530006, BL-LP1230/11-D00001U, 541380530005, BP-LP1200/11-D0001 MX, G025M-AB, G025A-AB.
3.7V, 1700mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 6.29Wh — sufficient for full-day navigation on Navman Pin without midday recharge.
Connector type is proprietary Navman slot with positive/negative contact pads; orientation marked on device housing; no locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell in a Pin unit; BMS accepted charge without fault codes; discharge curve held 3.7V until final 8% capacity drop.
After installing this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption requires 5–10 minutes for first lock versus under a minute for warm starts thereafter.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navman Pin / Praktiker LooxMedia 6500 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (541380530006)

This 3.7V, 1700mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Navman Pin and Praktiker LooxMedia 6500 portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM cell dimensions at 50 x 35 x 7mm, seating flush in the battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity figures are taken directly from the product data — not estimated.

  • Pin and LooxMedia 6500 compatibility: Both devices share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal rail, which is why a single cell covers both. The BMS protection circuit in this cell handles the same charge and discharge thresholds as the original.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a GPS navigator platform. The BMS engaged correctly at low-voltage cutoff and the protection circuit did not trip during normal GPS receiver and display load.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After installing this battery, power the unit on outdoors before driving. A full power interruption clears the GPS receiver's ephemeris cache, triggering a cold start. First satellite fix can take 5–10 minutes in open sky — subsequent fixes return to under a minute once the cache rebuilds.

GPS accuracy reduced when battery level drops below 20%

Some Navman portable GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity at low battery to cut power draw, which degrades position accuracy before the device shuts off. This shows up as route drift or hesitant turn-by-turn updates in the final minutes of a charge cycle. A degraded original battery accelerates this — the device enters low-power mode earlier because the cell's usable voltage window has shrunk. Keeping the cell above 3.6V under load avoids the sensitivity reduction entirely.

Device shuts off without a low-battery warning

The battery indicator on the Navman Pin reads state-of-charge from a voltage curve calibrated to the original cell. After a battery swap, the indicator is uncalibrated — it can show one bar remaining right up until the BMS hits its cutoff threshold and the unit goes dark. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles and the on-screen gauge will re-align to the new cell's discharge curve. Until then, plug in for charging when the indicator shows 30% to avoid unexpected shutoffs mid-route.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navman Pin lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Navman Pin stores some route and POI data in battery-backed RAM, so a full power interruption during a battery swap can wipe that memory. Re-enter saved destinations after the swap — they do not recover on their own. To reduce the risk next time, transfer key routes to an SD card before removing the old battery.

The satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after fitting the new battery — something is wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's stored ephemeris data, forcing a cold start on first power-up. A cold start takes 5–10 minutes in open sky to rebuild the satellite almanac. Once the cache is restored, subsequent locks return to under a minute — take the unit outside and leave it stationary until the first fix completes.

My Navman Pin drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating versus just sitting in the car — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, map rendering, and display backlight simultaneously — that combined draw is significantly higher than standby. If the drain feels excessive, drop the display brightness to its lowest usable level, which cuts the single largest power consumer. A degraded original cell can mask this because it fails fast across all use modes — a fresh 1700mAh cell will show the difference between active and standby more clearly.
