Fits Navman S30, S50, S70, S80 GPS navigators; replaces OEM battery BP-LP850/11-A1 L.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1250mAh; delivers 4.63Wh total energy for full navigator operation.
Connector slides straight into battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab secures on release.
We bench-tested this cell in an S30 unit; BMS accepted charge within normal voltage curve, no fault codes.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow satellite acquisition before active navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first fix.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navman S30 / S50 / S70 / S80 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-LP850/11-A1 L)

This is a 3.7V 1250mAh lithium-ion battery for the Navman S30, S50, S70, and S80 portable GPS navigators. It replaces OEM part BP-LP850/11-A1 L. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns mid-route.

  • S-series model compatibility: The S30, S50, S70, and S80 share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same physical battery bay dimensions — so one cell fits all four models without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the S-series platform. The BMS accepted a full charge without error flags, and the device voltage curve stayed within the expected 3.0V cutoff to 4.2V ceiling throughout.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After fitting a new cell, take the unit outdoors and power it on before driving. A full power interruption clears the GPS receiver's satellite almanac, so the first fix after a swap takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent power cycles warm-start and lock much faster.

GPS accuracy reduced when battery level drops below 30%

Some Navman S-series units scale back GPS receiver sensitivity at low battery to protect the cell from deep discharge. The unit stays on, but satellite signal strength drops and position updates can become less frequent. This isn't a faulty battery or antenna — it's the device managing draw. Keep the unit charged above 30% during active navigation to maintain full receiver output.

Device shuts off without a low-battery warning

After a battery swap, the S-series fuel gauge is uncalibrated to the new cell. The on-screen battery indicator can still show two or three bars when the cell voltage is already near the 3.0V cutoff threshold. The device then cuts power without the usual warning. Run two or three full charge and discharge cycles to let the fuel gauge re-calibrate to the new cell's actual capacity curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navman S30 saved routes and POIs disappeared after I replaced the battery — is there a way to get them back?

Removing the battery cuts power to the RAM that holds saved routes and POIs on the S-series. Any data not backed up to the SD card or synced before the swap is gone permanently. Going forward, use the Navman PC software to export your favourites and routes to your computer before any battery work. Restore them via the same software after the new cell is fitted.

My Navman shows a full satellite signal on screen but the position keeps jumping around — started right after the battery swap

This is a cold-start almanac issue. The GPS receiver lost its stored satellite orbital data when the battery was removed, and it's rebuilding that data from scratch. The position jumps as it locks onto satellites one by one with incomplete almanac data. Leave the unit stationary outdoors for 10 minutes on its first use after the swap — once the almanac is rebuilt, position accuracy returns to normal on all subsequent power cycles.

Active navigation is draining this battery noticeably faster than standby mode — is the new cell faulty?

It's not a faulty cell. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full duty cycle and keeps the display lit continuously — both are high-draw loads compared to standby. On a 1250mAh 3.7V cell, that combined draw is significantly higher than when the unit is sitting idle or in sleep mode. Lower screen brightness to its mid setting during navigation — the display is the single largest power consumer in the S-series and reducing it extends available charge noticeably.
