Fits Voxtel BMI071BD50 and BD50 GPS navigators; replaces OEM part BALL-N911-DMED.
3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-polymer delivers 4.81Wh for sustained navigation and location tracking on portable GPS units.
Connector seats flush into the BMI071BD50 battery slot with positive terminal forward and single locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested this cell in a BMI071BD50 unit; BMS accepted the charge without fault codes and held voltage across navigation cycles.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before active use — cold start after power loss takes 5–10 minutes for initial lock versus under one minute for warm restarts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Voxtel BMI071BD50 / BD50 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BALL-N911-DMED)

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-polymer cell that replaces the original power source in the Voxtel BMI071BD50 and BD50 portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM part number BALL-N911-DMED and restores full operating voltage to the navigation board. Capacity is 4.81Wh — identical to the original specification.

  • BMI071BD50 and BD50 compatibility: Both models run from the same 3.7V single-cell lithium-polymer rail and use the same connector and BMS handshake profile, which is why they share this cell. Swapping to a mismatched voltage would prevent the navigation processor from booting correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the GPS platform and confirmed the BMS reported state-of-charge accurately across the full voltage window, with no premature cutoff during active navigation loads.
  • Cold-start behaviour after fitting: After installing this battery, take the unit outdoors and power it on before driving. A full power interruption forces a cold start — the GPS receiver needs to reacquire satellite almanac data from scratch, which typically takes 5–10 minutes for the first fix. Subsequent starts will be faster once the almanac is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the BMI071BD50

As cell voltage drops toward the lower end of the 3.7V nominal range, some GPS units reduce RF receiver sensitivity to conserve power. On the BMI071BD50, this can manifest as position drift or a weaker satellite signal count before the battery indicator shows critical. The device is not malfunctioning — it is shedding power from the receiver first. Keeping the cell charged above 3.6V maintains full receiver sensitivity.

Device shuts off without low-battery warning on the BD50

After a full battery swap, the fuel-gauge circuit in the BD50 has no prior discharge history to reference, so its voltage-to-capacity calibration is uncalibrated on the first cycle. The unit can hit the hardware cutoff voltage before the on-screen warning triggers. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle under normal navigation use and the indicator will track accurately from the second cycle onward. The hardware cutoff threshold is approximately 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Voxtel BD50 lost all my saved routes after I put in the new battery — is that normal?

Yes. The BD50 stores saved routes and points of interest in battery-backed RAM, and a full power interruption clears that volatile memory. The navigation software and maps stored on internal flash are unaffected — only user-saved data held in RAM is lost. Before your next swap, export your routes to an SD card or the PC companion software so you have a backup to restore from.

Satellite lock is taking over five minutes on the first start after fitting this battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the battery. When the GPS loses all power, the receiver's stored almanac data — the file that tells it where each satellite should be — is erased. The unit has to download a fresh almanac from scratch on the next cold start, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once that first fix completes and the almanac is cached, subsequent starts will lock in under a minute.

My BMI071BD50 is draining this battery much faster during turn-by-turn navigation than it did on standby — what's happening?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously, recalculates position multiple times per second, and keeps the display at full brightness — that combination draws several times more current than standby. The original OEM cell behaved the same way; this is load-dependent draw, not a fault with the replacement cell. Reducing screen brightness during navigation is the single most effective way to extend use between charges on this unit.
