Fits Smart G-Force SB1200 lawn mower; replaces OEM battery CS-YFA800PW.
28V 5000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 140Wh capacity for residential mowing cycles.
Connector slides into the mower's rear battery slot with a single locking tab.
We bench-tested the pack at full discharge across thick-grass conditions; BMS held steady until motor cutoff.
Before first spring use, bring this battery indoors overnight if outdoor temps drop below 10C—cold Li-ion cells trigger blade motor inrush cutoff on the SB1200's BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Smart G-Force SB1200 — 28V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 28V, 5000mAh (140Wh) Li-ion battery for the Smart G-Force SB1200 cordless lawn mower. It replaces the original pack when capacity has faded or the battery no longer holds a useful charge. Fits the SB1200 platform directly — same voltage, same connector layout.

  • SB1200 platform fit: The SB1200 runs a 28V architecture with a blade motor that draws significant inrush current on start-up. This pack matches that voltage rail and carries a BMS tuned to handle the surge without tripping on normal grass loads.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated blade-motor start sequences and sustained cutting loads. The BMS held stable across all discharge events and the cells stayed within safe thermal range throughout.
  • Seasonal storage tip: Before storing the mower at the end of the season, bring the battery indoors and leave it at around 50–60% charge. Li-ion cells stored at full charge or near-zero for months accelerate capacity loss — a partial charge state reduces stress on the cells over winter.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

Wet or dense grass increases blade resistance sharply. The motor pulls more current than during normal dry cutting, and if that draw exceeds the BMS threshold, the pack shuts off to protect the cells. This is not a battery fault — it is the protection circuit doing its job. Let the mower sit for five minutes, then restart; the BMS resets once cell temperature drops back into the safe window.

Charger shows fault light after mower sat in garage all winter

Li-ion packs that sit unused for several months can self-discharge below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. When voltage drops that low, the charger reads the pack as faulty and refuses to charge. Some chargers have a recovery or trickle mode; activate it if available and leave the pack connected for 30–60 minutes. If the charger then transitions to normal charge mode, the pack has recovered — confirm with a full charge cycle before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SB1200 cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a short wait — is the battery failing?

This is thermal protection, not cell failure. The blade motor generates heat under sustained load, and the BMS cuts power once the pack hits its thermal limit. Allow a five-minute cooldown with the mower stationary and the battery still installed — the BMS resets automatically once temperature drops. If cutouts happen consistently after only a short run, check that the battery vents are clear of grass clippings blocking airflow.

The new battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one after a mow — should I be concerned?

Warmth during the first few cycles is normal. New Li-ion cells condition during initial use and generate slightly more heat as the electrolyte settles. After five full charge-discharge cycles, surface temperature during a typical mow should stabilise to what you'd expect from the original pack. If the pack is too hot to hold comfortably after a standard mow beyond those first five cycles, stop using it and check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated.

My SB1200 starts fine in summer but the power feels noticeably weaker on the first cold morning of spring — what's happening?

Li-ion cells deliver less capacity below 10°C because cold increases internal resistance, which limits how much current the cells can release. The blade motor draws its full inrush current regardless of temperature, so the gap is noticeable. Bring the battery indoors overnight before that first spring mow — cells at room temperature perform significantly better than cells at 5°C. Once the pack warms up through normal use, output returns to its rated level.
