Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch Indego 350 / 400 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (F016104898)
This is an 18V, 2500mAh (45Wh) Li-ion battery for the Bosch Indego robotic lawn mower range. It fits the Indego 350, Indego 400, Indego S+ 350, and Indego S+ 400, along with eleven additional Indego variants. The voltage rail, cell count, and connector match the OEM specification for these models.
- Indego 350 / 400 platform compatibility: These models share the same 18V battery bay, BMS handshake protocol, and physical connector. One pack covers the full range because Bosch standardised the battery interface across this generation of Indego mowers.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on an Indego dock and monitored BMS communication. The protection circuit responded correctly to cell balance events and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without faulting the dock.
- Seasonal storage tip: Before storing the mower at end of season, run the battery down to around 40–50% charge rather than leaving it full. A fully charged Li-ion pack sitting unused for three to four months accelerates cell degradation faster than a partial state of charge.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load
The Indego's blade motor draws significantly more current when cutting thick or wet grass than it does on a standard dry lawn. If the inrush current exceeds the BMS protection threshold — which can happen on a pack that is cold or partially cycled — the battery cuts out to protect the cells. The mower stops, the dock shows a fault, and reinserting the battery clears it. Keeping the pack at room temperature before a heavy mowing session reduces inrush-related trips, because warm Li-ion cells have lower internal resistance and handle the current spike more cleanly.
Charger refusing to accept the pack after winter storage
If the Indego sat in an unheated garage all winter, the battery may have self-discharged below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 10–12V for an 18V pack. The dock sees the pack as faulty and won't initiate a charge cycle. To recover it, place the battery indoors at room temperature for two to three hours, then retry the dock. If the pack still won't accept a charge after warming, the cells have likely dropped below recovery threshold and the battery needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Indego cuts out halfway through a mowing row, then starts again after a few minutes — what's happening?
This is thermal protection activating. The blade motor generates heat under sustained load, and when the pack temperature hits the BMS cutoff point, it shuts down the output until the cells cool. It's most common on long mowing sessions in warm weather or on lawns with dense growth. Allow a five-minute rest with the battery out of the mower, then resume — or mow in shorter sessions on hot days.
The battery gets noticeably warmer on this pack than it did on the original — is that a fault?
Not on a new pack. Fresh Li-ion cells run slightly warmer during the first four to five charge-discharge cycles while the cell chemistry stabilises and the BMS calibrates its balance thresholds. After five full cycles, surface temperature should settle to a level comparable to the original pack. If it's still running hot beyond that point, check that the battery bay vents on the mower aren't blocked with grass clippings.
The Indego performed fine in autumn but cuts noticeably less grass on the first spring run — battery fault or something else?
Li-ion cells lose usable capacity below 10°C because internal resistance rises, which reduces the current available to the blade motor. If the battery was cold when you started the mower, that's the direct cause — not a fault. Bring the pack indoors overnight before the first spring use and let it reach room temperature. A fully warmed pack on the same lawn will cover noticeably more area than a cold one straight from an unheated shed.
