Fits Bosch Indego 350, Indego 400, Indego S+ 350, Indego S+ 400, and 11 other models; replaces OEM F016104898 and F016L69176.
18V 1500mAh Li-ion cell delivers 27Wh to power the blade motor and navigation system through residential lawn cycles.
Slide connector seats into the dock slot with a forward push until the locking tab clicks; confirm flush seating.
We ran the pack through a full discharge into the blade motor load — BMS held steady with no early cutoff.
Before first spring use, bring the battery indoors overnight if outdoor temperatures are below 10°C; cold cells have higher internal resistance and can trigger blade motor inrush cutoff on the BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch Indego 350 / 400 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (F016104898)

This 18V 1500mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Bosch Indego 350, Indego 400, Indego S+ 350, and Indego S+ 400 robotic lawn mowers, along with eleven additional Indego variants. It slots into the same battery bay and communicates with the mower's BMS over the same data line as the factory cell. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec — 18V, 27Wh.

  • Indego 350 and 400 platform fit: All listed Indego models share the same 18V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — so one pack covers the full range without adapter changes or firmware conflicts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge, discharge, and blade-motor inrush cycles on the Indego platform. The BMS held cell balance across all cycles and the protection circuit responded correctly to simulated overload conditions.
  • Cold-weather start tip: Before the first mow of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current on a cold pack can trip the BMS before the mower completes its first row.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade load

The Indego's blade motor draws significantly more current through dense or wet grass than during normal cutting. If the pack is already warm from a previous run, the BMS can read combined thermal and current stress as an overload and cut power to protect the cells. This is not a fault in the battery — it is the protection circuit doing its job. Let the mower and battery rest for five minutes in a shaded spot before resuming the session.

Charger refusing to accept the pack after winter storage

Li-ion cells left in the mower through winter can self-discharge below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 12V for an 18V pack. When this happens, the Bosch charger shows a fault light and stops the charge cycle immediately. The fix is a brief recovery charge using a compatible Li-ion charger that includes a pre-charge or "wake-up" mode to bring each cell back above the acceptance threshold. Once the pack reaches approximately 14–15V, the standard charger will accept it and complete a normal charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Indego cuts out halfway across a thick patch of lawn then starts again on its own — what's happening?

The blade motor draws a spike of current through dense grass, and if the pack is warm from earlier in the session, the BMS reads combined heat and current as an overload and shuts down output to protect the cells. The mower recovers once the pack cools slightly and the BMS resets — usually within five minutes. This happens more often in high-growth periods after rain. Let the mower rest in shade for five minutes, then resume.

The charger just blinks a fault code and won't charge the pack after it sat in the garage all winter — is the battery dead?

Not necessarily. Li-ion cells self-discharge over months of inactivity, and if the pack has dropped below roughly 12V the Bosch charger's acceptance threshold won't trigger — it sees the voltage as too low to safely begin a standard charge cycle. A charger with a pre-charge or recovery mode can bring each cell back above the acceptance voltage before the main charge starts. Once the pack reaches around 14–15V, reconnect it to the standard Bosch charger and it should begin a normal cycle.

The new battery feels noticeably warmer than the old one ever did — should I be concerned?

New cells generate more heat during the first few charge-discharge cycles because they are conditioning — internal resistance is slightly higher until the cells are worked in. By cycles four or five, surface temperature during mowing should settle closer to what the original pack produced. If the pack is still running unusually hot after five full cycles, check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings and debris, which restrict airflow around the pack.
