Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sunseeker RMA1001M20V Series — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LBF2025)
This is a 20V Li-ion battery rated at 2500mAh (50Wh) carrying OEM part number LBF2025. It fits the Sunseeker RMA1001M20V, RMA301M20V, RMA501M20V, and RMA801M20V cordless lawn mowers. It slots directly into the same battery dock and communicates with the same BMS logic as the original pack.
- RMA-series mower compatibility: All four RMA models listed share the same 20V battery platform, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single LBF2025 pack works across all of them without adapter or firmware change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated high-draw cycles simulating blade motor inrush and monitored BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit responded correctly to overcurrent events and returned to ready state within the expected window after load was removed.
- Seasonal storage tip: Before the first mow of the season, bring this battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have elevated internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the mower has cut a single row.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load
The blade motor on the RMA-series mowers draws a hard inrush spike when it bites into dense or wet grass. If that spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold — typically triggered by sustained high draw, not a single brief peak — the pack shuts down mid-row as a protection response. This is not a battery fault; it is the BMS doing its job. Let the mower sit for 5 minutes, then restart. If it trips repeatedly on the same patch, slow your walking pace so the blade load stays within the pack's continuous discharge rating.
Charger showing fault light after mower sat in garage all winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If the pack sat unused through winter, its cell voltage may have dropped below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. Most chargers will refuse to charge a pack below that floor and display a fault or red LED. To recover, some Sunseeker chargers have a trickle-recovery mode: leave the pack seated on the charger for 30 minutes without removing it. If the charger still shows fault after that window, the cells have likely dropped below recoverable voltage and the pack needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Sunseeker mower cuts out halfway across the lawn then starts again after a short wait — is the battery faulty?
That pattern is thermal protection activating, not a defective cell. The blade motor builds heat in the pack during sustained use, and once internal temperature hits the BMS cutoff threshold, the pack disconnects until it cools. Allow a 5-minute rest with the battery seated in the mower but the blade off. If it only happens on long runs in warm weather, that is normal operating behaviour during the first few charge cycles while the cells condition.
The LBF2025 pack feels noticeably warmer than my old battery after mowing — should I be concerned?
New cells run warmer than a worn pack for the first 4 to 5 cycles because fresh lithium-ion cells have slightly lower internal resistance and accept higher current during discharge conditioning. We measured surface temperature on the bench across multiple discharge cycles and saw it settle to a stable level by cycle 5. If the pack is warm to the touch but not hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, it is within normal range. If it becomes too hot to handle, stop use immediately and check that the battery dock contacts are clean and fully seated.
Why does my Sunseeker mower feel sluggish on the first few passes when it is cold outside?
Li-ion cells lose usable capacity below 10°C because lower temperatures increase internal resistance and reduce the voltage the cells can sustain under load. The blade motor pulls more current on startup than during steady cutting, and a cold pack sags under that initial draw — producing slower blade spin and reduced torque. Bring the battery indoors for at least an hour before mowing when temperatures are near or below 10°C. A pack at room temperature will hold its voltage above the BMS low-voltage cutoff through the full mow where a cold pack may not.
