Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Robomow Robozone Switch 2019 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT8200A)
This 3.7V, 6800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Robomow Robozone Switch 2019 robotic lawn mower. It matches the original BAT8200A specification exactly — same voltage rail, same form factor at 69.80 × 41.00 × 19.00mm. Swap it in when the original pack has degraded and the mower starts cutting sessions short.
- Robozone Switch 2019 fitment: The Robozone Switch 2019 uses a single-cell Li-ion architecture at 3.7V nominal. This pack matches that voltage rail and carries the BAT8200A and ID976 part numbers the mower's BMS expects to handshake with during charge and discharge cycles.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles, monitoring BMS cutoff thresholds at both ends. The protection circuit held correct high-voltage cutoff and low-voltage lockout without tripping prematurely under simulated blade-motor inrush loads.
- Seasonal storage tip: If the mower sits unused through winter, store this battery at roughly 50% charge — not flat. A fully discharged Li-ion pack left for months can drop below the BMS acceptance threshold, and the charger will refuse to wake it.
Charger showing fault after the mower sat in storage all winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly even when the mower is off. Over a full winter, a pack stored flat can drop below 2.5V per cell — the threshold where most chargers will refuse to begin a charge cycle as a safety measure. The charger isn't faulty; it's rejecting a pack it reads as potentially damaged. Some chargers include a recovery or trickle mode that can bring the cell voltage back above the acceptance threshold before switching to normal charge. If yours does not, the pack will need replacement.
Mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after a short pause
This is thermal protection activating, not a defective battery. The blade motor draws heavy current through dense or wet grass, generating heat inside the pack. When internal temperature hits the BMS cutoff point, the circuit opens to protect the cells — the mower stops, the pack cools, and the BMS resets. Let the mower sit for at least five minutes before restarting. If it happens repeatedly on normal dry grass, check that the blade is sharp — a dull blade draws significantly more current per pass.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Robomow charger won't start charging the new battery — just shows a fault light. What's wrong?
The charger is reading the pack voltage as too low to accept a charge safely. This happens when a Li-ion cell sits discharged for an extended period and drops below the BMS acceptance threshold — typically under 2.5V. Check whether your Robomow charger has a recovery or trickle-charge mode; if it does, activate it and leave the pack connected for 30 minutes before attempting a normal charge cycle. If the charger has no recovery mode and the fault light persists, the cell voltage is below recoverable range and the pack should be replaced.
The mower runs fine in summer but loses power noticeably on the first cold morning of spring. Is the battery faulty?
It's not a fault — it's normal Li-ion behaviour below 10°C. Cold cells have higher internal resistance, which reduces the current they can deliver. The blade motor's inrush current on startup can also trip the BMS on a cold pack that would handle the same load fine at room temperature. Bring the battery indoors the night before the first spring mow and let it reach room temperature before fitting it. Capacity and power delivery return to normal once the cells warm up.
The replacement battery feels warmer than the old one did after a mow. Should I be concerned?
New cells run slightly warmer than a worn pack for the first several cycles — this is normal during conditioning. A worn battery has higher internal resistance and lower capacity, so it does less work per session; a fresh cell at full capacity is working harder and generating more heat as a result. After five full charge and discharge cycles, the warmth should settle to a level comparable to the original pack when it was new. If the pack is too hot to touch comfortably after a standard mow on normal grass, check that the blade is sharp and the mower's ventilation slots are clear of clippings.
