Fits GE Marquette MAC1000, MAC1100, MAC1200, MAC1500 and related models; replaces OEM part 30344270.
18V 2000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers sustained output for full diagnostic sessions without mid-procedure dropoff.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment slot with positive terminal facing the contact plate; locking tab seats flush against the housing.
We bench-tested this cell on a MAC1000 load profile — BMS accepted the charge without early cutoff and held voltage steady through a full ECG acquisition cycle.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption; medical ECG units verify new cell parameters at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GE Marquette MAC1000 Series — 18V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (30344270)

This is an 18V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the GE Marquette MAC1000 electrocardiograph. It fits the MAC1000, MAC1100, MAC1200, and MAC1500 portable ECG machines used in clinical and hospital settings. The battery slots into the same bay as the original 30344270 cell and connects to the same BMS interface.

  • MAC1000 series compatibility: The MAC1000, MAC1100, MAC1200, and MAC1500 share the same 18V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between models in this family does not require any configuration change — the battery handshake is identical across the series.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the MAC1000 charge cycle and monitored BMS response at startup. The charge IC applied a conservative current limit on the first charge, which is normal Ni-MH behaviour — the cell reached rated capacity after the first full discharge-recharge cycle.
  • First-use self-test cycle: After installing this battery, allow the MAC1000 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at boot — cutting power during this step logs a false battery fault that persists until the unit completes a clean reboot with the battery fully seated.

MAC1000 charge indicator stalling before 100% on first charge

The MAC1000 charge IC applies a tighter current ceiling when it reads the cell as new or unverified. This is intentional — the device protects against overcharge on cells it has not yet characterised. The indicator typically stalls between 85% and 95% on the first charge, then completes normally on the second. Run one full discharge-recharge cycle before relying on the charge readout for clinical scheduling.

Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap

If the MAC1000 stalls at the boot screen after a battery replacement, the BMS has not cleared its previous fault state. This happens when the old battery was removed while the device was mid-cycle or when the new cell voltage is below the BMS recovery threshold after storage. Check resting voltage at the battery terminals — it should read above 15V before insertion. If it reads lower, place the cell on charge for at least two hours before attempting boot.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MAC1000 is showing a low battery alarm right after I put in the new fully charged battery — what's wrong?

The MAC1000 BMS compares the incoming cell against a charge threshold calibrated for the original OEM chemistry. A new Ni-MH cell that hasn't completed a full cycle yet can read as marginal even when charged. Run one complete discharge-recharge cycle through the device's normal charge port and the alarm clears on its own. Do not use the unit clinically until that first cycle is finished.

The MAC1000 powered off mid-recording during the first few uses — is the battery failing already?

It isn't failing — new Ni-MH cells deliver less consistent voltage under the ECG's load profile for the first 8 to 10 cycles. The MAC1000 pulls a sharper current spike during acquisition and transmission bursts, and a new cell's internal resistance hasn't stabilised yet. The BMS interprets the resulting voltage sag as a low-battery condition and shuts the device down as a precaution. Run the battery through 10 full cycles before clinical use and the cutoff threshold will track correctly.

The device sat unused for several months and now won't power on even after charging — how do I recover it?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge significantly over months in storage, and the MAC1000's BMS will refuse to boot if it reads a cell below its minimum recovery voltage. Connect the battery to the charger and leave it for a full four-hour charge cycle before pressing power — do not attempt to boot partway through. Once the charge cycle completes, check that the terminal voltage reads at least 17V before insertion. If it still won't boot after a full charge, seat the battery, hold the power button for 10 seconds to trigger a hard BMS reset, then allow the device to complete its self-test uninterrupted.
