Fits Huntleigh Doppler Dopplex ability vascular ultrasound system, replaces OEM part 771332 and 771332-4.
12V 2100mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the charge capacity original equipment specified for diagnostic examinations.
Battery connector slides into the rear compartment slot with positive terminal facing inward; locking tab seats flush.
We tested this cell on the Dopplex ability charge circuit; the BMS accepted full charge within standard parameters on cycle one.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test without interruption — medical Doppler systems run BMS verification at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huntleigh Doppler Dopplex Ability — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (771332)

This is a 12V 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Huntleigh Dopplex Ability portable vascular Doppler. It fits the handheld Dopplex Ability used in clinical settings for non-invasive blood flow assessments. OEM part numbers 771332 and 771332-4 are both covered by this cell.

  • Dopplex Ability platform fit: The Dopplex Ability runs a 12V Ni-MH chemistry with a specific connector and BMS handshake. This cell matches the voltage rail and pack geometry the device expects — 84.20 x 45.90 x 34.00mm — so the battery seats and communicates correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through a full charge and discharge sequence on the Dopplex Ability platform. The BMS completed its verification pass without triggering a fault, and the charge IC accepted the cell without forcing a low-battery alarm.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the Dopplex Ability complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification check at startup — cutting power during this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Why the Dopplex Ability alarms low battery on a freshly charged cell

The Dopplex Ability's BMS stores a charge profile from the previous cell. A new Ni-MH cell has a slightly different internal resistance signature, and the BMS compares startup voltage against that stored threshold. On the first cycle, the new cell may read below the BMS pass threshold even at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before using the device clinically — after that cycle, the BMS updates its reference and the alarm clears.

Dopplex Ability not powering on after the battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day in storage. If the pack voltage drops below the Dopplex Ability's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10.5V for a 12V Ni-MH pack — the device refuses to boot. Place the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle before inserting it into the device. If the charger detects the cell and begins charging, the pack voltage is recoverable. If the charger shows no activity, check pack voltage with a multimeter — below 9V, the cell may be too deeply discharged to recover.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dopplex Ability is showing a low battery warning right after I charged the new battery — is something wrong?

This is a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The Dopplex Ability compares startup voltage against a profile built from the previous battery, and a fresh Ni-MH cell has a different internal resistance that reads low on the first pass. Run one full charge-discharge cycle without interrupting the device mid-use. After that cycle, the BMS updates its reference and the low battery alert stops appearing.

The Dopplex Ability shuts off mid-examination even though the battery shows charged — what's causing that?

New Ni-MH cells deliver slightly less voltage under load in the first 10 cycles as the chemistry conditions. The Dopplex Ability's load profile during active Doppler assessment draws enough current to expose this early-cycle voltage sag, which the BMS interprets as a depleted pack and cuts power. Run five to ten full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the battery during patient examinations. After conditioning, the cell holds its voltage under load and mid-use shutdowns stop.

The charge indicator on the Dopplex Ability never reaches 100% on the first charge with the new battery — should I be concerned?

The charge IC applies a conservative current limit on an unrecognised cell, which extends the charge time and can stall the indicator short of 100%. This is normal on the first charge cycle with a new Ni-MH cell. Let the charger run to completion without disconnecting early — the indicator typically reaches full within one or two cycles once the charge IC has characterised the cell. If the indicator still stalls after three full cycles, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flush.
