Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Chison ECO 1 / ECO 2 Portable Ultrasound — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (33-00012-00)
This 14.4V 6800mAh Li-ion battery replaces part number 33-00012-00 (also cross-referenced as BT-2500) in Chison ECO 1 and ECO 2 portable ultrasound systems. It supports mobile clinical imaging when mains power is unavailable. Voltage and capacity match OEM specification exactly — 97.92Wh total energy.
- ECO 1 and ECO 2 platform compatibility: Both the ECO 1 and ECO 2 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The 14.4V nominal rail and cell configuration are identical across the platform, so this single part number covers all listed variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on the ECO platform and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly. Charge termination triggers at the expected cutoff voltage, and the protection circuit responds to overcurrent as it should during probe activation.
- Power-on self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the ECO unit to complete its full startup self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at boot — cutting power mid-sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot cycle.
ECO 1 not completing boot sequence after battery swap
The ECO 1 runs a hardware self-test during boot that includes a BMS state-of-charge query. On a new cell, the BMS may not yet have a calibrated charge history, and the device can interpret an ambiguous response as a fault — halting the boot sequence before the imaging software loads. This is not a defective battery. Perform one full charge cycle from near-empty to 100%, then reboot. The BMS log populates correctly on the second cycle and the device completes startup normally.
Low battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge
This alarm appears when the BMS threshold is calibrated to OEM cell chemistry and the replacement cell hasn't yet passed its first full charge-discharge learn cycle. The device reads state-of-charge from coulomb counting, and a new cell with no cycle history can report a lower-than-actual value. Run one complete discharge under normal clinical load followed by a full charge to 100%. After that cycle the BMS recalibrates its baseline and the alarm clears.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ECO 1 shuts off mid-scan even though the battery showed more than half charge — what's happening?
New Li-ion cells in the first 10 cycles have not yet reached full electrolyte wetting, which means internal resistance is higher than it will be at cycle 20. During probe activation the ECO's load profile draws a short high-current burst, and elevated internal resistance causes a voltage sag that trips the BMS undervoltage cutoff — even with significant capacity still in the cell. Complete five to ten full charge-discharge cycles under normal use before clinical deployment. After conditioning, the sag drops and the cutoff stops triggering prematurely.
Battery sat in storage for several months and now the ECO 2 won't power on at all — is the cell dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the pack dropped below the BMS recovery threshold (typically around 2.5V per cell, roughly 10V pack voltage on a 14.4V 4S configuration), the protection circuit locks out to prevent damage. The device won't power on because the BMS is blocking output entirely — not because the cell is failed. Connect the charger and leave it for a minimum of two hours without interrupting; most chargers apply a low-rate pre-charge trickle that brings the pack above the recovery threshold before switching to full charge rate. If the charge indicator shows any activity within 30 minutes, recovery is underway.
Charge indicator on the ECO 1 won't reach 100% on the first charge — stops at 85–90% and stays there — is this normal?
On the first charge cycle, some charge ICs apply a conservative upper cutoff limit on an unconditioned cell to prevent overvoltage stress. The ECO's charge indicator reads from the BMS state-of-charge register, which may report a ceiling of 85–90% until the cell has been through one complete cycle. This is a calibration state, not a fault. Complete a full discharge under normal imaging load, then charge again from below 20% — the charge IC updates its ceiling value and the indicator reaches 100% on subsequent charges.
