Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Chison ECO 1 / ECO 2 Portable Ultrasound — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (33-00012-00)
This 14.4V 5200mAh (74.88Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the Chison OEM part 33-00012-00 (also listed as BT-2500) in the ECO 1 and ECO 2 portable ultrasound systems. It fits both the standard ECO 1 and ECO 2 units, along with six additional Chison portable ultrasound configurations sharing the same battery bay and connector. Voltage and cell count match the original pack exactly.
- ECO 1 and ECO 2 platform fit: Both the ECO 1 and ECO 2 share the same 14.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement cell covers the full platform — no wiring changes or adapter needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on ECO-series hardware. The BMS handshake completed without fault codes, and the device passed its power-on self-test on the first boot after installation.
- Post-swap startup protocol: After installing this battery, let the ECO unit complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at boot — cutting power during that window triggers a battery fault flag that persists until the next complete reboot.
Why the ECO 1 reports a battery fault after a confirmed full charge
The ECO 1's BMS stores a capacity model calibrated to the original cell chemistry. A new replacement cell has not yet built a charge history that the BMS recognises, so the system can flag a fault or display an inaccurate state-of-charge reading even when the pack is physically full. This resolves after one complete charge-to-discharge cycle, which gives the BMS enough data to update its internal model. Do not use the unit clinically until that first cycle is complete and the self-test passes cleanly.
ECO 1 shuts off mid-scan during the first few uses
New lithium-ion cells have slightly higher internal resistance before the first 8–10 cycles. The ECO 1's transducer firing load draws peak current that can push a cold, uncycled cell below the BMS cutoff threshold momentarily, triggering a protective shutdown. This is not a defective battery — it is the BMS protecting the cell before it has broken in. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles away from patient use, and the shutdowns will stop as internal resistance drops to its rated value.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ECO 1 is showing a low battery alarm immediately after I charged this replacement fully — what's wrong?
The ECO 1's BMS uses a stored capacity model built from the original cell's charge history. A brand-new cell has no history, so the BMS cannot confirm that the reported state-of-charge is real — it defaults to a low-battery alarm as a safety measure. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the unit before clinical use, and the BMS will re-calibrate its model to the new cell. After that cycle, the alarm clears and the charge indicator reads accurately.
The ECO unit won't power on at all after this battery sat in a box for a few weeks before installation — how do I recover it?
Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack voltage dropped below the ECO's BMS recovery threshold (typically around 10V for a 14.4V pack), the BMS enters a deep-discharge lockout and blocks startup entirely. Connect the battery to the ECO charger and leave it for a full charge cycle without attempting to power on the device — most BMS controllers include a trickle pre-charge stage that brings the pack back above the recovery threshold before handing off to the main charge circuit. If the charger LED does not respond after 30 minutes, check that the charger output is live at the connector.
The charge indicator on the ECO 2 stops at around 95% and never reaches 100% — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The ECO 2's charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it has not seen before, which causes it to terminate the charge phase slightly early on the first one or two cycles. This is a deliberate safety behaviour — the charge controller is avoiding over-voltage on an unknown cell. After two full charge cycles the controller adjusts its termination threshold and the indicator will reach 100%. Do not interrupt the charge mid-cycle during this break-in period.
