Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray DECG-03A / MEC-03 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SE-601A)
This 14.8V, 3400mAh (50.32Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM SE-601A pack in the Mindray DECG-03A electrocardiograph and MEC-03 cardiac monitor. It fits the full DECG-03A platform used in hospital wards, clinics, and emergency departments for portable ECG recording. Voltage and connector match the original — no modification needed.
- DECG-03A / MEC-03 platform fit: Both devices share the SE-601A battery format, the same 14.8V rail, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol. A single cell pack covers both units without any adapter or wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, idle, and load on the DECG-03A platform. The BMS completed its initialisation sequence, charge acceptance was normal from the first cycle, and the device cleared its power-on self-test without fault flags.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the DECG-03A complete its full power-on self-test without pressing any keys or interrupting the boot sequence. The device BMS runs a chemistry verification at startup — interrupting it plants a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Why the DECG-03A reports a battery fault after a confirmed full charge
The DECG-03A charge IC applies a conservative acceptance threshold calibrated to the original OEM cell's internal resistance profile. A new replacement cell has a slightly different impedance signature in the first few cycles, which can cause the BMS to log a mismatch and surface a fault flag even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a defective cell — it is the BMS learn cycle running as intended. One complete charge-to-full, run-to-low, recharge cycle resets the impedance baseline and clears the fault on the next boot.
DECG-03A shutting off mid-recording on a new battery
New lithium-ion cells generate slightly more heat per cycle in the first 10 charge-discharge cycles as the electrolyte settles into the electrode structure. The DECG-03A's BMS monitors cell temperature and voltage sag under the device's ECG acquisition load — if either parameter crosses its threshold, it triggers a protective shutdown to prevent cell damage. This can look like a faulty battery but is a normal conditioning response. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles outside clinical use first, then verify the cell holds above 13.5V under load before returning the device to patient use.

Frequently Asked Questions
The DECG-03A shows a low battery alarm the moment I power it on, but the replacement battery just came off a full charge — what's happening?
The device BMS compares the new cell's impedance against a stored OEM profile at startup, and a fresh cell doesn't match that profile until it completes at least one full cycle. The alarm is a threshold mismatch, not a capacity problem. Run one complete charge-to-full, discharge-to-low, recharge cycle before using the device clinically. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm clears on the next clean boot.
The DECG-03A won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in the packaging for a few weeks — is the cell dead?
Lithium-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the voltage dropped below the DECG-03A's BMS recovery threshold (typically around 10V for a 14.8V 4S pack), the BMS locks out the output to protect the cells. Connect the battery to the device charger and leave it for a full charge cycle — most BMS circuits include a trickle recovery mode that will bring the cell back up from a deep-discharge state. If the charge indicator does not begin within 30 minutes, disconnect, wait 5 minutes, and reconnect to re-trigger the recovery handshake.
The charge indicator on the DECG-03A stops climbing at around 90–95% and never reaches 100% on the first charge — is the replacement battery underspec?
This is normal behaviour on the first charge. The DECG-03A charge IC applies a reduced top-up current to new cells to avoid overstress on unfamiliar cell chemistry, which makes the final charge stage run longer and sometimes appear stalled. Let the device charge uninterrupted for a full session — do not disconnect early. By the second or third cycle the charge IC will have characterised the cell and the indicator will reach 100% within the normal charge window.
