Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T Unite Pro / Aircard 781S — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (W-6, 5200080)
This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion battery fits the AT&T Unite Pro, Unite Pro 4G, Unite Pro 4G LTE, and Aircard 781S mobile hotspots. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped and the device can no longer hold a charge through a full session. Voltage and connector match the OEM spec — no modifications needed to fit the battery compartment.
- Unite Pro and Aircard 781S compatibility: All four model variants in this line share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery footprint, and connector pin-out. The BMS handshake is identical across the Unite Pro 4G and 4G LTE variants, so one replacement cell covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the Aircard 781S under a simulated multi-device Wi-Fi load alongside active cellular data. The BMS held a stable discharge curve with no false low-voltage cutoffs at the modem draw peaks.
- Ventilation during extended hotspot sessions: Keep the Unite Pro on a hard, open surface when running extended sessions. When connected devices are far from the hotspot, the cellular radio pushes to maximum output power — that heat accumulates directly against the battery and accelerates cell degradation over time.
Hotspot disconnecting users mid-session on a new battery
The Unite Pro runs two power-hungry subsystems simultaneously — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio. At maximum connections, the combined current draw creates brief voltage sag events. If the replacement cell has marginal internal resistance, the BMS interprets the sag as a low-voltage fault and cuts power to the modem, dropping all connected sessions. A cell meeting the original 2200mAh spec at proper internal resistance handles those peaks without triggering the cutoff. If disconnections persist, check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated — a partial connection increases effective resistance at the terminal.
Unite Pro not powering on after sitting unused for several weeks
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the Unite Pro draws a small standby current even when powered off. Left long enough, the battery drops below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V for this cell — and the device will not respond to the power button. Connect the hotspot to a wall charger and leave it for at least 20 to 30 minutes before attempting to power on; most chargers will not output a fast-charge current until the cell recovers above 3.0V. If the indicator light never appears after 45 minutes on charge, the cell may have dropped below recoverable depth and requires replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AT&T Unite Pro battery drains way faster when I'm in a weak signal area — is something wrong with the replacement cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. When the Aircard 781S cannot find a strong LTE signal, the cellular modem ramps to maximum transmit power trying to maintain the connection — that draw is significantly higher than normal operation. A 2200mAh battery will deplete noticeably faster under those conditions regardless of whether it is original or replacement. Move the hotspot closer to a window or an exterior wall to give the modem a stronger signal, which drops transmit power back to a lower level and reduces the drain rate.
The Unite Pro feels warm to the touch during long sessions and then shuts off unexpectedly — what's causing that?
The cellular radio and Wi-Fi chip both generate heat, and that heat builds up inside the housing directly against the battery. When internal temperature crosses the BMS thermal threshold, the circuit cuts output to protect the cell — this is a protection trigger, not a battery fault. Set the hotspot on an open hard surface away from soft materials like beds or bags that trap heat. If the shutdowns happen within the first 30 minutes of a session at room temperature, check that the battery is seated flush with no gap at the contacts, as a loose connection increases resistance and generates additional localised heat.
After replacing the battery, my Unite Pro shows full charge but drops to empty and shuts off within a short time — what's happening?
This is a fuel-gauge calibration mismatch. The hotspot's charge controller stores capacity data from the old degraded cell, so the percentage display is reading against the wrong baseline. Run the new battery down until the device shuts off from low voltage, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using the hotspot. That full discharge-to-charge cycle forces the controller to recalibrate its capacity estimate against the new cell's actual 2200mAh rating, and the charge indicator will track accurately after that.
