Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel A7 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp038B1)
This is a 3850mAh Li-Polymer cell at 3.85V, built to replace the original TLp038B1 in the Alcatel A7 and A7 LTE family. It fits the A7, A7 LTE, A7 LTE Dual SIM TD-LTE, and OT-5090Y among others. Voltage matches the original power management spec exactly — no adapters or modifications needed.
- A7 series compatibility: The A7, A7 LTE, and Dual SIM TD-LTE variants all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.85V power rail. One cell fits across the range because the chassis and power management IC are common to the platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Alcatel power management IC and confirmed BMS handshake, charge termination at 4.35V, and stable voltage delivery under combined screen and LTE modem load. No false low-voltage cutoffs were observed.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% on a standard 5V charge. This gives the fuel gauge IC one full reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before fast charge current is applied.
Why the A7 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Alcatel A7 uses a coulomb counter inside the fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model from the original cell's discharge curve. When you fit a new cell, that calibration table no longer matches the actual chemistry in the phone. The IC keeps reading against the old model, so the percentage shown on screen drifts from reality — often reading 30% when the cell is nearly flat. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a slow charge to 100% forces the coulomb counter to rewrite its reference. After that cycle, percentage accuracy returns to normal.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem or display load threshold faster than the fuel gauge IC expects — a voltage cliff the old calibration data didn't predict. Under peak LTE transmission or full-brightness screen load, the cell voltage sags below the 3.4V cutoff point even though the reported percentage says it should have charge left. The fuel gauge IC trips the shutdown to protect the cell, not because the cell is faulty. Run one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the IC recalibrate; the shutdown threshold should stabilise above 15% reported charge after that cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Alcatel A7 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V in storage and the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a 5V/1A charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release and allow a normal boot. If the charging LED or screen shows any sign of life within that window, keep charging. If there is still no response after 45 minutes on charge, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection stops the trickle recovery from starting.
Fast charging stopped working on the A7 after fitting this replacement — the phone charges but only at standard speed.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD or Alcatel proprietary fast charge protocol will sometimes not negotiate because the new BMS presents different impedance characteristics to the charge IC. Complete one full charge-discharge cycle at standard 5V speed first. After that cycle the charge IC re-evaluates the cell parameters and fast charge handshake typically resumes. If fast charging still does not engage after two cycles, check that the charger cable supports the required current — a worn cable will drop the negotiation before the BMS responds.
The battery percentage on the A7 keeps jumping — it will show 54%, then skip to 61%, then drop back to 48% within a few minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell and its stored discharge curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement cell. This erratic jumping is most common in the first two to three charge cycles after a swap. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown without topping up mid-cycle, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this gives the coulomb counter a clean full-range reference pass. Percentage readings typically stabilise within one to two cycles after that.
