Fits Asus ZenFone Go 5.0, ZB500KL models; replaces OEM part 0B200-02170000 and B11P1602.
3.8V nominal, 1900mAh capacity delivers 7.22Wh — restores full charge cycles on this entry-level Android phone.
Connector slides straight into the factory slot with locking tab engaged; no adapter needed for ZB500KL housing.
We ran full discharge cycles on the fuel gauge IC; BMS initialized cleanly without voltage drift or early cutoff.
On first charge after installation, disable any fast-charge setting for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ZenFone Go 5.0 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (0B200-02170000)

This 3.8V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Asus ZenFone Go 5.0 (ZB500KL, X00A, X00ADA). Capacity is 1900mAh (7.22Wh), matching the OEM specification. It fits any unit carrying part number 0B200-02170000 or B11P1602.

  • ZB500KL, X00A, X00ADA compatibility: All three model codes refer to the same ZenFone Go 5.0 hardware platform. They share an identical connector pinout, battery bay dimensions (64.28 × 56.64 × 5.10mm), and the same BMS handshake with the charge IC — so one cell covers the full production run.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a ZB500KL unit. The BMS accepted charge current without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold before the cell reached damaging depth.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle lets it remap against the new cell so percentage readings track accurately from the start.

Why the ZenFone Go 5.0 shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap

The ZenFone Go 5.0 uses a coulomb counter fuel gauge that was trained on the original cell's voltage-versus-capacity curve. A new cell has a slightly different curve — the voltage drop at low charge is steeper than the old degraded cell the gauge expects. When the modem transmits or the screen lights up, current draw spikes and the cell voltage sags below the shutdown threshold even though the gauge still reads 20–30%. Running one full discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100%, rewrites the gauge's reference curve and eliminates the false-floor cutoff.

Phone does not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the replacement cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS has entered lockout mode to prevent damage — and the phone will show nothing when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC delivers a low-current pre-charge trickle that brings the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the charging indicator does not appear within 30 minutes, check that the battery connector is fully seated at 3.8V rest voltage before assuming a fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

The battery percentage jumps around erratically after I put in the new cell — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC on the ZenFone Go 5.0 is a coulomb counter calibrated to the discharge curve of your original battery. A fresh cell has a different curve, so the gauge misreads state-of-charge until it builds its own reference data. Run one full discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge to 100% without interrupting. The erratic readings stabilise once the IC has one complete cycle to work from.

Fast charging stopped working on my ZenFone Go 5.0 right after I fitted the replacement battery — it only trickle charges now.

On the first charge cycle, some charge ICs treat an unfamiliar BMS as an unknown source and drop back to standard 5V/1A current as a safety default. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. Charge the phone fully at the slower rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — the IC re-negotiates the charging profile once it has completed one handshake cycle with the new BMS. If the faster charge rate still does not return, confirm the original Asus charger is in use, since third-party adapters may not trigger the proprietary charge protocol at all.

The phone feels warm near the battery area while charging — is the new cell safe to use?

Mild warmth during the first few charges on a new cell is normal. A fresh, high-impedance cell forces the charge IC to work slightly harder to push current in, which generates a small amount of heat at the board and cell surface. Warmth that is uncomfortable to touch, or that persists beyond the first two or three charge cycles, points to a seating issue — remove the battery, check the connector pins are clean and fully engaged, and reseat the cell flat against the bay before charging again.
