My DASH 3.5 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — should I stop?
Mild warmth on the first one or two charge cycles is normal. A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat while pushing current into it. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charging indicator cuts out prematurely, disconnect and let it cool for 10 minutes before reconnecting.
