Fits Leagoo Alfa 5 smartphones; replaces OEM battery part number BT-501.
3.8V and 1900mAh capacity matches the original cell; sustains calls, messaging, and app use on a single charge.
Connector seats flush into the Alfa 5 battery slot with no locking tab; orientation marked on the cell itself.
We tested the BMS on first insertion with the stock USB charger; voltage ramp held steady at 0.5C with no early cutoff.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without enabling fast charging — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leagoo Alfa 5 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BT-501)

This is a 3.8V, 1900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Leagoo Alfa 5 smartphone. It matches the OEM BT-501 specification and fits the original battery compartment at 76.15 × 55.32 × 4.20mm. Swap it in when your original cell no longer holds charge through a normal day of calls and screen use.

  • Alfa 5 fitment: The Alfa 5 uses a removable rear cover with a direct-contact battery bay. This cell matches the BT-501 connector tab placement and voltage rail so the phone's charge IC picks it up without manual pairing or firmware changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held cutoff cleanly at the low-voltage threshold and accepted a standard charge current without triggering thermal shutdown.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins. Skipping this step is the most common cause of erratic percentage readings in the first week.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Alfa 5 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem and screen load before the gauge registers low battery. The phone cuts power to protect the cell even though the display shows charge remaining. Run one full discharge to 0% and a full charge to 100% uninterrupted — the coulomb counter resets and the shutdowns stop.

Phone won't power on after the BT-501 sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BT-501 dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage. Plugging in a charger at this point often shows no charging indicator at all. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold, after which the phone boots normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Leagoo Alfa 5 showing the wrong battery percentage after I fitted the new BT-501?

The fuel gauge IC inside the Alfa 5 builds its percentage estimate against the old cell's discharge curve stored in memory. When you swap in a new cell, that curve no longer matches and the gauge reads high or low. Run one full uninterrupted discharge — use the phone until it shuts itself off — then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the percentage stabilises.

My Alfa 5 feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A freshly installed Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage across the cell to drive current in during the first few cycles. This produces a mild warmth at the back of the phone. It reduces after three to five full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charger disconnects repeatedly, check that the battery contacts are fully seated and not bridged by the rear cover.

Fast charging stopped working on the Alfa 5 after I replaced the battery — what happened?

Some charge controllers re-negotiate the fast-charge protocol on the first cycle with a new cell and default to standard 5V charging until the BMS confirms the cell is within safe parameters. This is normal behaviour on the first charge after a swap. Remove the charger, power the phone off fully, then reconnect the charger with the phone off. The charge IC renegotiates from a clean state and fast charging typically resumes within that session.
