Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leagoo M8 / M5 Max — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BT-572P)
This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Leagoo M8 and M5 Max smartphones. It carries OEM part number BT-572P and fits both models due to shared cell dimensions of 82.50 × 69.10 × 4.75mm and the same voltage rail. Capacity is rated at 7.6Wh.
- M8 and M5 Max cross-compatibility: Both phones use the same physical cell format, voltage rail, and BMS connector pinout. The BT-572P fits either model without modification. Verify the part number on your existing cell before ordering if you are unsure which model you have.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the M8 platform. The BMS handshake completed on the first cycle, the charge IC accepted current without interruption, and voltage held stable under simultaneous screen and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve. Without this step, the coulomb counter remains calibrated to the old cell and will report inaccurate percentages.
Why the M8 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The M8 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its percentage model from the discharge curve of whichever cell is installed. When you fit a new cell, the IC still holds calibration data from the degraded original. Until you complete a full discharge and charge cycle, the reported percentage can read 10–20% higher or lower than actual state of charge. One uninterrupted cycle from 100% down to automatic shutdown and back to 100% resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem's minimum voltage threshold under peak load, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. A fresh cell on an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC is the most common cause — the counter does not yet know where the real voltage cliff sits on this cell's curve. Run the recalibration cycle described above first. If shutdowns continue after one full cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as a high-resistance contact causes the same voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V in storage and the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will re-initialise and allow a normal boot. If the charging indicator appears and then the phone boots, the cell has recovered; if there is no response at all after 45 minutes on a wall adapter, the cell has gone below the recovery threshold.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting this battery — is the charger broken?
The charger is most likely fine. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell has not yet negotiated a handshake with the phone's charge IC, so the IC defaults to standard 5V charging as a safety fallback. Charge fully on that first cycle and disconnect. On the second charge, the fast-charge protocol should reinitiate normally. If fast charging still does not activate after two full cycles, test with the original charger and cable — a worn cable with high resistance will prevent the voltage handshake from completing.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% in a few minutes, then back up — what's happening?
That is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating in real time against a cell curve it does not yet recognise. The coulomb counter is estimating state of charge from voltage readings, and a new cell has a different impedance profile than the degraded original it replaced. Complete one full uninterrupted discharge cycle — let the phone run down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle the IC locks onto the new curve and percentage reporting stabilises. Do not charge in short bursts during this first cycle, as partial charges reset the counter mid-calibration.
