Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

MeiZu M6T / M811 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA811)
The BA811 is a 3.85V, 3200mAh lithium-polymer cell that fits the MeiZu M6T, M811, M811T, and M811H. It restores power to phones where the original cell no longer holds a working charge. Capacity figures come from the product data: 3200mAh / 12.32Wh.
- M811-series platform fit: The M6T, M811, M811T, and M811H share the same mainboard voltage rail and connector pinout. The BA811 part number covers all variants because the BMS handshake and charge termination voltage are identical across that board revision.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BA811 through charge and discharge cycles on M811-series hardware. The BMS accepted the standard 4.35V charge termination without tripping, and protection circuits responded correctly to simulated short and over-discharge conditions.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BA811 replacement cell
A fresh lithium-polymer cell has a steeper voltage cliff than a worn original. When the modem fires up for a call or the screen peaks at full brightness, instantaneous current draw can pull the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even when the gauge still reads 25%. The fuel gauge IC inherited the old cell's discharge curve, so the reported percentage does not reflect the new cell's actual state of charge at that load point. One full discharge cycle — taken below 10% before recharging — forces the coulomb counter to resync to the BA811's real capacity. After that cycle, shutdowns at mid-charge typically stop.
USB fast charge not working after battery replacement
MeiZu's proprietary fast-charge protocol negotiates between the charger and the phone's charge IC at the start of each session. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may default to standard 5V/1A input rather than accept the elevated voltage or current of the fast-charge profile. This happens because the BMS reports an unfamiliar cell state on the first handshake. Charge the phone once at standard speed with the original MeiZu cable and charger, then disconnect and reconnect — fast charging typically resumes from the second session onward once the IC has logged a complete baseline cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone is warm near the battery during the first few charges after I swapped the BA811 — is something wrong?
A new high-impedance cell accepts charge current less efficiently than a broken-in cell, so more energy is lost as heat during the first few cycles. The charge IC on the M811 board does not throttle current on the first session, so warmth in the battery area is expected. It should reduce noticeably after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's internal resistance settles. If the phone is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold after those initial cycles, check that the charge IC is not locked into fast-charge mode — drop to a standard 5V charger and verify the temperature drops.
My M6T battery percentage jumps around erratically after fitting the BA811 — it reads 60%, then drops to 40% in minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge model it built from the old worn cell. The coulomb counter accumulated errors over the life of the original battery, and those calibration values do not match the BA811's actual discharge curve. Run the phone down to below 5% without interruption, then charge it to 100% in a single uninterrupted session. One complete cycle forces the IC to rebuild its reference points against the new cell. Percentage stability typically returns within one to two cycles after that reset.
The MeiZu M6T won't power on at all after the BA811 sat unused in storage — how do I recover it?
Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BA811 dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage. Plug the phone into the original MeiZu charger and leave it connected for at least 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC applies a trickle pre-charge current to bring the cell above the BMS recovery threshold, which is typically around 2.9V. Once the BMS releases lockout, the charge indicator should appear on screen and normal charging resumes automatically.
