Fits Motorola Razr 2022, Razr 5G 3rd gen 2022 models XT2251 and XT2251-1, replacing OEM part NM50.
This cell delivers 3.89V at 2600mAh, sufficient for full-day operation on the Snapdragon processor and 6.7-inch display.
Connector slides straight into the original battery slot with no physical modification required.
We cycled this pack on a Razr 2022 charger; the BMS accepted a standard 5V USB-C input and discharged evenly across the voltage curve.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola Razr 2022 — 3.89V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (NM50)

This is a 3.89V, 2600mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Motorola Razr 2022 smartphone, covering models XT2251 and XT2251-1. OEM part numbers NM50 and SB18D44719 apply. It replaces the original cell when capacity has faded or the battery no longer holds a usable charge.

  • Razr 2022 and Razr 5G 3rd Gen compatibility: Both the XT2251 and XT2251-1 share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Razr 2022 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases as expected.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Razr 2022 after a cell swap

The Razr 2022 uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, that curve no longer matches. The fuel gauge reads 25% while the actual cell voltage is already near the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V under modem or display load. The phone shuts down not because the cell is weak, but because the gauge and the real voltage diverge at the knee of the discharge curve. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and eliminates these premature cutoffs.

USB-PD fast charge not triggering on the first cycle after replacement

Some Razr 2022 units will not negotiate fast charge on the first cycle with a new cell — the charge IC defaults to standard 5V/1A until it has seen at least one full charge cycle. This is a protective behaviour tied to the BMS handshake, not a fault with the charger or cable. Use a standard charge for the first full cycle, then reconnect with the fast charger. Fast charge should activate normally from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Razr 2022 keeps showing the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new NM50 cell — it jumped from 60% to 15% with no warning. What's happening?

The fuel gauge IC on the Razr 2022 stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so the percentage readout drifts badly. The fix is one full recalibration cycle: charge to 100%, use the phone until it shuts down on low battery, then charge back to 100% uninterrupted. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve and the percentage readout stabilises.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation — is the cell dead?

Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage. The phone will not power on from this state because the BMS blocks current flow until voltage recovers. Connect the phone to a standard 5W charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle-feed the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage climbs above roughly 3.0V, the BMS releases the lockout and the phone will boot normally.

The Razr 2022 feels noticeably warm near the hinge area during the first few charges with the new battery — is that normal?

A new lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a well-cycled cell, which means the charge IC dissipates more heat during the initial constant-current phase. This is expected on the first two to three charge cycles and reduces as the cell forms. If the warmth is uncomfortable to hold or persists beyond the third full charge, check that the replacement cell dimensions match the originals — a misfit cell pressed against the chassis will not cool as efficiently. The correct NM50 cell measures 69.30 × 39.60 × 5.50mm; confirm your fitment against those dimensions.
