Fits Nokia 6708 smartphone; replaces OEM battery BP-3001L.
3.7V and 1300mAh capacity restores full call, messaging, and app runtime on aging Nokia 6708 units.
Connector slides into original battery slot with single mechanical locking tab; orientation keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell on a Nokia 6708 platform; BMS accepted the new pack within two charge cycles with no fault codes.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without enabling fast charging — this allows the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current operation.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia 6708 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-3001L)

The BP-3001L is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell for the Nokia 6708 smartphone. It replaces the original battery when the phone no longer holds a charge through a full day of calls and messaging. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly.

  • Nokia 6708 fit: The 6708 uses a dedicated battery bay with a specific connector pitch and BMS handshake tied to the BP-3001L form factor. Substituting a different cell family breaks that handshake and triggers a charge fault on the phone's charge IC.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Nokia 6708 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC ramped to full current within the first cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC one clean cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve before reporting accurate percentages.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Nokia 6708 after a cell swap

This happens because the phone's fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC misreads as near-empty, it signals a shutdown even though usable capacity remains. The modem and display draw a sharp current spike that drops cell voltage below the IC's cutoff threshold momentarily. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle rewrites the coulomb counter baseline and clears the premature cutoff.

Phone not powering on after the BP-3001L sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the BP-3001L dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent unsafe charging. The phone will show no response — no charge indicator, no boot screen. Connect the phone to a wall charger rather than a PC USB port, which delivers stable 5V at higher current, and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the BMS sees voltage above its recovery threshold, charging resumes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Nokia 6708 reporting 100% one minute and dropping to 60% the next after fitting the BP-3001L?

The fuel gauge IC in the 6708 calibrated its discharge curve against your old, worn cell. It has no reference data for the new BP-3001L cell's voltage profile, so percentage readings jump erratically while the coulomb counter tries to recalibrate on the fly. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the IC locks onto the new curve and percentage reporting stabilises.

The Nokia 6708 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges with the BP-3001L — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC pushes voltage into more resistance and generates more heat in the first few cycles. This is expected and reduces after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's internal resistance settles. If the phone is hot to the touch rather than just warm, remove it from the charger and let it cool before continuing. By the third cycle, charging temperature should be back to the same level you saw with the original battery.

Fast charging stopped working on my Nokia 6708 after I installed the new BP-3001L — the phone only trickle charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC sometimes defaults to a conservative trickle charge rate because it has no charge history for the new cell's BMS. This is a protective fallback, not a fault. Complete one full charge to 100% at the trickle rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. The charge IC should recognise the cell's BMS response on the second connection and resume normal charge current.
