Fits VIBO A688 smartphone; replaces original 3.7V lithium-ion cell when capacity degrades or charge retention fails.
3.7V nominal voltage with 1100mAh capacity delivers 4.07Wh total energy for calls, messaging, and app use on the A688 platform.
Connector interfaces directly into the A688 battery slot with standard lithium-ion contact alignment; no adapter required.
We bench-tested the cell on a full discharge cycle; BMS accepted the pack without fault codes and held nominal voltage through load transition.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging enabled—this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

VIBO A688 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion cell built to replace the original battery in the VIBO A688 smartphone. It fits the A688 directly, restoring power to a phone that no longer holds a charge or fails to power on. Capacity is 1100mAh (4.07Wh), matching the original cell specification.

  • A688 fit notes: The A688 uses a compact 46.00 x 40.10 x 6.30mm cell with a direct connector tab. This replacement matches those dimensions exactly, so the battery seats flush without pressure on the rear housing.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge and charge sequence on the bench. The BMS accepted charge input without tripping, and the protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge cutoff near 2.5V.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC in the A688 was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — running one slow cycle lets it map the new curve before high-current charging begins.

Why the A688 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The A688 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state by measuring voltage and current over time against a stored discharge curve. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the physical cell in the device. The gauge reads voltage accurately but maps it to the wrong state-of-charge percentage. One full slow discharge to 3.2V followed by a complete charge cycle forces the IC to re-anchor its calibration to the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during a call, screen-on burst, or GPS fix — faster than the fuel gauge predicts. The phone's low-voltage protection cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty battery; it is the gauge reading a voltage cliff it has not yet learned. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging, then check whether the shutdowns persist. If the phone still cuts out, charge to 100% and verify the resting cell voltage sits above 4.1V before discharge begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

The A688 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked the cell out due to deep discharge below 2.5V per cell. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs a trickle current to bring the cell voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold before normal charging resumes. If the charge indicator does not appear within 30 minutes, try a different cable and confirm the charger delivers at least 5V 1A.

Fast charging stopped working on the A688 after fitting this battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on a new cell has not yet exchanged a full handshake with the phone's charge IC. The device defaults to standard 5V charging as a safety fallback. Complete one full charge to 100% at the standard rate, then disconnect and allow the phone to drain normally. On the next charge session, fast charging should re-negotiate correctly once the BMS has a completed cycle on record.

The battery percentage on the A688 jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, drops to 35%, then climbs back up.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against a discharge curve it has not yet mapped for the new cell. Erratic jumps — especially mid-range between 30% and 65% — are normal for the first two cycles after a replacement. Do not interrupt charging during this period. Run two complete discharge-charge cycles with fast charging off, and the coulomb counter will stabilise its state-of-charge estimate against the actual cell behaviour.
