Fits Oppo Reno9 5G 2022 and RMX3474 models, replaces OEM battery BLP909.
Voltage measures 3.87V nominal; 4500mAh capacity sustains this device's processor, display, and modem without premature shutdowns.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge for secure seating.
We bench tested this cell on the stock Oppo charging circuit — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion, voltage curve tracked clean under 2A discharge loads.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell's actual discharge profile before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo Reno 9 5G / Realme 9 — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP909)

This is a 3.87V, 4500mAh (17.42Wh) lithium-polymer cell for the Oppo Reno 9 5G (2022), RMX3474, and Realme 9 smartphones. It replaces OEM part BLP909. The cell dimensions are 92.10 × 64.50 × 4.50mm, matching the original housing footprint.

  • Reno 9 5G and Realme 9 compatibility: Both devices share the BLP909 cell spec — same voltage rail, same connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers all three model variants listed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on RMX3474 hardware. The BMS accepted the cell, charge IC ramped correctly, and no protection trips were logged during load testing.
  • First-cycle fast charge caution: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under peak modem load or display brightness, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects, crossing the BMS cutoff threshold before the percentage reaches zero. The gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve from the previous battery. Run one full discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — after that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

OS percentage jumping erratically after cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches actual cell voltage at each state-of-charge point. The result is percentage readings that jump — often 10–15% in either direction — with no warning. One complete, uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle at standard rate (fast charge off) forces the coulomb counter to relearn the curve. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises to within ±2–3%.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Oppo Reno 9 5G won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out due to deep discharge below 2.5V per cell. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — most BMS firmware on BLP909 cells includes a trickle-charge recovery path that will bring the cell back above the lockout threshold. Once the charge LED activates or a charge indicator appears on screen, the BMS has recovered. If nothing happens after 45 minutes on a known-working charger, try a different USB cable before assuming cell failure.

Fast charging stopped working on the Reno 9 5G immediately after fitting the new BLP909 cell — the phone only slow charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard 5V charging because the new BMS hasn't yet completed a full handshake with the device's proprietary fast-charge protocol. This is normal and not a fault with the cell. Run one full charge to 100% at the slow rate, let the phone discharge to below 20%, then reconnect with the original fast charger. The protocol negotiation completes correctly on the second cycle in the majority of cases, and fast charging resumes at the rated charge rate.

The Realme 9 feels noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges with the new cell — is something wrong?

Mild warmth on the first two or three charge cycles is expected with a new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell. Fresh cells have slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a small amount of extra heat as it works against that resistance. Keep the phone out of its case for the first two cycles and charge on a flat surface — this allows heat to dissipate normally. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charge IC throttles and charging stalls repeatedly, check that the charger output does not exceed the rated input voltage for the BLP909, which is rated to the device's standard 3.87V nominal cell spec.
