Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BG965ABE)
This 3.85V, 3500mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and S9+ (SM-G965 series). It fits the SM-G9650/DS, SM-G965N, and related variants sharing the EB-BG965ABE form factor. Capacity matches the factory specification at 13.48Wh.
- SM-G965 series fit: All SM-G965 variants use the same 78.68 × 45.56 × 5.60mm cell envelope, the same flex connector pinout, and communicate with the charge IC over the same BMS protocol — which is why one cell covers the full range of regional model numbers.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and discharge cycle on an SM-G965F. The BMS handshook correctly with Samsung's charge IC on first contact, and the coulomb counter initialised without error flags in the battery status register.
- First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. Under peak modem or display load, the cell voltage can drop sharply below the threshold the OS uses to predict remaining charge — triggering a protective shutdown before the gauge reads zero. It happens most often in the first few cycles on a fresh cell because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded discharge curve. Running one full discharge to shutdown followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter reference and typically eliminates the early cutoff.
USB-PD fast charge not accepted on the first cycle after replacement
After a cell swap, Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging negotiation can stall on the first charge cycle — the phone falls back to standard 5V/1A input even when a fast charger is connected. This happens because the charge IC runs a brief conditioning pass on an unknown cell before it allows elevated current. Disconnect the charger, power the phone fully off, then reconnect — the IC re-enters negotiation from a clean state. Fast charge typically resumes normally from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Galaxy S9 Plus shuts off at around 25% after I replaced the battery — is the new cell faulty?
This is almost always a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a defective cell. The coulomb counter is still using the discharge curve from the old, degraded battery as its reference, so it mispredicts the voltage cliff on the new cell. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. That single cycle resets the reference and the early shutdowns typically stop.
The battery percentage on my S9 Plus jumps around erratically — it went from 60% to 39% in two minutes without heavy use.
Erratic percentage jumps after a cell replacement point to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a new cell it has no prior data for. The coulomb counter is interpolating against a stored curve that no longer matches the actual discharge profile. Force one complete, uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown and a full charge back to 100% — this gives the IC a clean measured cycle to build an accurate curve from. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises significantly.
My S9 Plus won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
If a Li-Polymer cell self-discharges below roughly 2.5V per cell in storage, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show no sign of life — no charging animation, no response to the power button. Connect a known-working Samsung charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything; the charge IC will attempt a trickle pre-charge to bring the cell voltage back above the BMS re-initialisation threshold, typically around 3.0V, after which normal charging resumes.
