Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SGH-A707 / SGH-Z560 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB653443CAB)
This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Samsung SGH-A707, SGH-A727, SGH-A171, and SGH-Z560, among others. It matches OEM part numbers AB653443CAB, AB603443CA, AB603443AA, and related variants. Install it directly in place of the original cell — no modification needed.
- SGH-A707 / SGH-Z560 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full range listed under AB653443CAB and its cross-reference part numbers.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full discharge on the SGH-A707 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve against the new cell before normal use resumes.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SGH-A707 after cell replacement
The SGH-A707's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve calibrated to the original aged cell. A new cell has a steeper voltage cliff under modem and screen load, so the IC misjudges remaining capacity. When the phone fires the transmitter, instantaneous current draw pulls cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fix is one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge — this rebuilds the coulomb counter reference and aligns the percentage readout to the new cell's actual curve.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on first charge cycle
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during the initial charge cycle than a broken-in cell does. The SGH-A707 charge IC does not throttle current on first insertion — it applies the same charge rate regardless of cell condition. Warmth near the battery door in this first cycle is normal and typically resolves by the second charge. If the phone stays warm beyond the first full cycle, check that charge terminates at 4.2V and is not continuing past that point.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SGH-A707 shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the battery faulty?
The battery is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the SGH-A707 is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell, so it loses track of the new cell's voltage under load. When the modem fires during a call or data burst, current draw drops cell voltage faster than the IC predicts, triggering a BMS cutoff before the display hits zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the coulomb counter resets against the new curve and the shutoffs stop.
The battery percentage jumps erratically — it was at 60%, dropped to 31%, then jumped back to 55% within a few minutes. What is happening?
This is the fuel gauge IC actively recalibrating after a cell swap. The IC uses a stored impedance model to interpolate percentage between charge events, and that model no longer matches the new cell's characteristics. The erratic jumps are the IC correcting its estimate as it collects new voltage and current data. Complete two full discharge-to-shutoff and charge-to-100% cycles without interruption — by the end of the second cycle the readings stabilise.
The SGH-A707 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if this cell dropped below approximately 2.5V during that time the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to the power button in this state. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 15 to 30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC applies a low-current pre-charge trickle to recover the cell voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which the phone will power on and charge normally.
