Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SPH-i330 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BST1089SEB)
This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Samsung SPH-i330 smartphone. It replaces the original BST1089SEB when the factory cell can no longer hold adequate charge for calls, messaging, or basic app use. Voltage and connector match the SPH-i330 battery bay exactly.
- SPH-i330 fitment: The SPH-i330 draws from a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a specific contact layout tied to its charge IC. This cell matches that voltage rail and connector footprint — no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes on the SPH-i330 platform. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination and low-voltage cutoff at each stage without triggering false shutdown events.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. This gives the SPH-i330's fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SPH-i330 after cell replacement
The SPH-i330's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell has a different internal impedance profile, so the IC misreads remaining capacity under load. When the modem fires during a call or the backlight peaks, voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the gauge still shows 20–30%. One full discharge-charge cycle without interruption lets the coulomb counter re-anchor to the new cell's actual voltage cliff, typically around 3.4–3.5V under load.
SPH-i330 not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the BST1089SEB cell dropped below approximately 2.5V before installation, the BMS enters a protective lockout state and the phone will not power on. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically 2.8–3.0V, before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SPH-i330 shuts off mid-call even though the battery percentage still shows 25% — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC in the SPH-i330 was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's remaining capacity under modem load. When the radio fires, voltage sags sharply and the BMS cuts power before the gauge catches up. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% with fast charging off — the coulomb counter will re-anchor to the new cell's voltage floor, around 3.4V under load.
The SPH-i330 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — should I stop charging?
Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is expected. A new high-impedance cell has higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat while it works through the initial cycles. As long as the phone is not too hot to hold comfortably, continue charging normally. If heat persists beyond the third full cycle, check that the battery contacts are seated flat against the cell terminals with no debris underneath.
The battery percentage on my SPH-i330 jumps erratically — it reads 60%, then drops to 30% within minutes without heavy use.
Erratic percentage jumps point to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an uncalibrated cell — it is making estimates, not accurate readings. The SPH-i330 uses a basic coulomb counter that needs one anchor point: a full charge followed by a full discharge to automatic cutoff. Do not top up mid-cycle during this calibration run. After that single complete cycle, the IC has enough data to interpolate state-of-charge accurately between endpoints and the jumping should stop.
