Fits Samsung SGH-U940 and U940 Glyde; replaces OEM part AB603443EZBSTD and AB603443EZ.
3.7V 900mAh Li-ion cell delivers 3.33Wh to power the U940's display, modem, and processor through typical daily cycles.
Connector slides into the U940 battery slot with a single locking tab on the right side.
We charged this cell in a Samsung U940 dock and monitored BMS cutoff behavior at full capacity without load drift.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without removing the battery to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SGH-U940 Glyde — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB603443EZBSTD)

This 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Samsung SGH-U940 and Glyde U940 flip phones. It matches the OEM voltage, capacity, and connector on both devices. Install it when your original cell no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly.

  • SGH-U940 and Glyde U940 compatibility: Both device variants use the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake — the AB603443EZBSTD part number covers the full production run of that platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a U940 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, constant-current, and constant-voltage phases cleanly.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before relying on the battery percentage indicator. The U940's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one complete cycle lets it map the new cell's voltage profile accurately.

Why the U940 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The U940 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks capacity by counting charge flowing in and out of the cell. When you swap the cell, the IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory. The percentage it reports is based on that stale reference — not the new cell's actual state. One full discharge followed by a full charge resets the reference point and brings the readout back in line with real charge levels.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — the display backlight and radio draw current simultaneously and the cell cannot sustain voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold. The phone reads 25% but the cell's actual open-circuit voltage is already near 3.5V, which collapses further under peak draw. A replacement cell with a healthy internal resistance curve eliminates this sag. After installing, confirm the phone stays on through a full screen-on call — that is the highest combined load scenario on this hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

My U940 shut off at around 25% and now it won't turn back on — is the new battery dead already?

The cell almost certainly hit BMS lockout after the voltage collapsed under load at that percentage. Plug the phone into the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on — the BMS requires a trickle charge phase to exit the locked state when cell voltage drops below roughly 3.0V. If the charge indicator light comes on, the cell is recovering. Once it reaches 3.2V the BMS will release and the phone will boot normally.

The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it was at 60%, then jumped to 80%, then dropped to 40% within a few minutes.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a new cell it has no reference data for. The coulomb counter in the U940 is working from the previous cell's discharge curve, so voltage readings at mid-charge states map incorrectly to percentage values. Run one uninterrupted full discharge — use the phone until it shuts itself off — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the IC has a new anchor point and the percentage display stabilises.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a worn-in cell, which means the charge IC dissipates more heat during the constant-current phase. Mild warmth during charging on a freshly installed cell is expected and typically reduces after the first few cycles as impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — remove it from the charger and check that the battery is seated flat with no gap at the connector. A partially seated connector raises contact resistance and adds heat at the joint.
