Fits Samsung SGH-D908, SGH-D900, and SGH-D900i — replaces OEM part AB503442CE and equivalent variants.
3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion cell restores talk time and standby duration on mid-2000s flip phones without modification.
Connector slides straight in; no locking tab — seat fully until the battery contacts align flush with the compartment.
We charged this cell in a Samsung D900 bench unit; the BMS accepted the pack on cycle one with no fault delay or voltage drift during discharge.
On first charge after installation, let the fuel gauge IC complete one full discharge-charge cycle before resuming normal use — the phone's coulomb counter needs to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SGH-D908 / SGH-D900 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB503442CE)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 700mAh (2.59Wh), sized to fit the Samsung SGH-D900, SGH-D900i, SGH-D908, and SGH-E788, among others. It replaces OEM part numbers AB503442CE, AB503442CC, AB503442AE, and several regional variants. The cell matches the original footprint at 42.75 × 36.55 × 4.38mm — no case modification needed.

  • SGH-D900 family compatibility: The D900, D900i, D908, and E788 all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal rail. One cell covers the full group because Samsung standardised the BMS handshake and connector orientation across these mid-2000s flip models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on a D900 unit. The BMS accepted the charge without tripping, temperature stayed within normal limits, and the protection circuit cut cleanly at both the low-voltage floor and the 4.2V ceiling.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge accessory for the first complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle at standard current lets it relearn the new curve before you push higher charge rates into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the SGH-D908 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The D908 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by integrating current over time. That counter was trained against the original cell's capacity and internal resistance. A new cell has a different impedance profile, so the IC's percentage estimate drifts almost immediately. The fix is straightforward: run one full discharge down to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the IC resets its reference points against the new cell. After that single cycle, percentage readouts stabilise.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell

This happens when the phone's CPU, modem radio, and display fire simultaneously, pulling a short burst of current the cell struggles to sustain at mid-charge. A Li-ion cell's internal resistance is higher when it is new and not yet broken in, so voltage sags sharply under that load spike. The phone's low-voltage cutoff reads the sag as a dead cell and shuts down — even though the state-of-charge estimate still shows 20–30%. After two or three full charge cycles, internal resistance drops and the sag narrows. If shutdowns persist beyond three cycles, check resting voltage after a full charge — it should read 4.18–4.20V with no load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone powers on fine but shuts off suddenly when I make a call — the battery still shows 25%. What's happening?

The modem radio in the D900/D908 draws a sharp current spike when it connects to a cell tower, and a new Li-ion cell with elevated internal resistance can't hold voltage steady under that load. The phone's protection circuit reads the voltage sag as a dead cell and cuts power — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. This typically resolves after two to three full discharge-charge cycles as internal resistance settles. After cycling, check resting voltage after a full charge — it should sit between 4.18V and 4.20V.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — it'll show 60%, then drop to 30%, then jump back up. Is the cell faulty?

The fuel gauge IC on the D908 was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A replacement cell has a different impedance and capacity profile, so the IC's estimate becomes unreliable until it relearns the new curve. Run one complete cycle: discharge the phone to auto-off shutdown, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without pulling the cable early. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate, and percentage readings stabilise from there.

The phone won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months. Is it dead?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if this one dropped below roughly 2.5V, the BMS triggered a deep-discharge lockout to prevent cell damage — the phone won't respond to the power button in that state. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a USB port on a laptop) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. A wall charger delivers enough current to nudge the cell above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9–3.0V, at which point the protection circuit re-enables and the phone boots normally.
