Fits CyberSnap-901, CyberSnap-LS, and related models; replaces OEM part GBLi885-7 and NV1.
3.7V and 750mAh capacity matches the original cell; delivers the voltage and charge capacity this phone's fuel gauge expects.
Connector slides into the original battery slot with no modification; tab locks flush against the housing spring.
We bench-tested this cell on a CyberSnap-901 charge cycle; the BMS accepted input immediately and discharged into a stable 3.3V floor under load.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SVP CyberSnap-901 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GBLi885-7)

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion cell for the SVP CyberSnap-901 and CyberSnap-LS smartphones. It also fits the DC-12V and DC-12V-2 models sharing the same battery bay and connector. Capacity is 2.78Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • CyberSnap-901 and LS platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The same physical cell fits all units in this series without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the CyberSnap-901 platform and monitored BMS communication throughout charge and discharge. The protection circuit responded correctly to end-of-charge and low-voltage cutoff thresholds on both cycles.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC needs a full uninterrupted cycle to build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Why the CyberSnap-901 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve for the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile will cause the coulomb counter to misread state-of-charge from the first power-on. The phone may show 80% while the cell is actually near 50%, or jump several percentage points between screen-on and screen-off. One full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or display draws a load spike the cell cannot sustain at that state-of-charge. A fresh 750mAh cell at 30% still holds roughly 3.65V at rest, but under peak modem transmit load, voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically 3.0V — and the phone shuts down instantly. The fuel gauge IC then reports a false percentage because it never saw the voltage collapse coming. Charge the phone to 100% and run the fuel gauge recalibration cycle described above before drawing any sustained load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what's happening?

The cell drained below 2.5V in storage and the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to a normal power button press at this voltage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without touching it. Once the BMS sees enough incoming current to bring the cell above 2.8V, it will release the lockout and the phone will begin a normal charge cycle.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after putting in the replacement battery — is something broken?

Nothing is broken. The charge IC runs a handshake with the battery BMS before enabling high-current USB-PD or proprietary fast charge protocols. On a new cell with no charge history, the IC defaults to standard 5V charging on the first cycle as a safety measure. Complete one full charge to 100% at standard rate, then disconnect and reconnect — the fast charge handshake will authenticate correctly on the next plug-in.

The phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal?

A new high-impedance cell converts slightly more energy to heat during the initial charge cycles compared to a broken-in cell. This is normal for the first two to three cycles and will reduce as internal resistance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — disconnect from the charger immediately and let it cool before continuing. After three full cycles, surface temperature during charging should return to what you saw with the original battery.
