Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tecno HD61 Album — 3.7V Li-ion 1000mAh Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-ion cell for the Tecno HD61 Album smartphone. It replaces a worn or failed original battery when the phone no longer holds a charge or shuts down unexpectedly. Voltage and capacity match the stock specification for this handset.
- HD61 Album compatibility: The HD61 Album uses a compact 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm cell at 3.7V. This replacement matches those physical and electrical parameters exactly — the BMS handshake and connector orientation carry over from the original cell without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS triggers charge cutoff at the correct upper voltage threshold and that protection circuitry responds normally to load. No anomalous heat or voltage deviation was recorded during the test run.
- First cycle after installation: On first use, disable fast charging if your charger supports it, then run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the HD61 Album after a cell swap
The HD61 Album's fuel gauge IC holds a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC's stored curve no longer reflects real voltage behaviour, so the phone cuts power at what it thinks is a safe floor — often 20–30% displayed charge. The new cell's actual voltage drops below the modem or screen load threshold before the IC expects it to. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the replacement cell's actual characteristics. After that cycle, shutdown percentages normalise.
Phone warm near the battery compartment during the first charge
A new lithium-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC compensates by pushing slightly more voltage early in the charge cycle, which generates more heat at the cell surface. On the HD61 Album this shows up as noticeable warmth around the back cover during the first one or two charges. It settles as the cell conditions. If the back cover becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — disconnect the charger and allow the phone to cool to room temperature before resuming.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Tecno HD61 Album won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during storage, cutting all output to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell long enough to bring voltage above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond to the power button. If the charge LED flickers or the screen briefly shows a low-battery icon, the cell is recovering normally.
The battery percentage on my HD61 Album jumps around erratically after I fitted this replacement — sometimes it gains 10% in a minute.
The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. Against a new cell with different voltage characteristics, the coulomb counter misreads state-of-charge and reports jumps. Run one complete discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate without removing the charger early. That single full cycle gives the IC enough data to rebuild an accurate curve for the new cell, and erratic percentage readings typically stop after it completes.
Fast charging stopped working on my HD61 Album the moment I put in this new battery — my charger used to fast-charge the old one fine.
On first installation, the BMS in a new cell may not immediately accept the elevated current handshake that fast-charge protocols negotiate. Complete one full charge cycle at standard (non-fast) charge rate first. After that cycle, reconnect your fast charger — the BMS will have completed its initialisation pass and should accept the higher current negotiation normally. If fast charging still does not engage after the second charge cycle, test with a different cable, as impedance in a worn cable can cause the charge IC to drop back to standard rate.
