Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo P955EP6 / P950 Series — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (P950BAT-4)
This is a 15.2V, 3500mAh (53.2Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Clevo P955EP6 and P950 series gaming laptops. It replaces OEM part numbers P950BAT-4, 4ICP5/65/80, 6-87-P950S-51E00, and 6-87-P950S-51E01. Fits P955EP6, P950KP6, P950HP6, P957HR, and seven additional P950-series models.
- P950-series platform fit: These models share a common 4-cell Li-Polymer pack at 15.2V with the same physical connector and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between P950KP6, P950HP6, P955EP6, and P957HR uses the same cell configuration, so one SKU covers the full line.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a P950-series board. The BMS communicated without error, charge termination triggered correctly at 100%, and protection circuitry tripped as expected under over-current simulation.
- Post-install calibration on the P950 series: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff under normal use — gaming load works well — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health or capacity warning that appears after every cell swap on these boards.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new P950BAT-4
The P950 BIOS reads cycle count and health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM data is different — the BIOS flags a mismatch and reports degraded health even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge allows the firmware to record a new baseline. After one or two cycles the health indicator normalises.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% shown on the gauge after battery swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC on the P950 board is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Under full load — CPU boost, discrete GPU, and a bright display panel simultaneously — voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the board hits its low-voltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The gauge is reading stale data, not the new cell's actual curve. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles and the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new chemistry. After calibration, shutdown should not occur above 5–8% at full load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The P955EP6 BIOS shows the wrong Wh rating after I put in the new battery — it says something different from 53.2Wh. Is the cell faulty?
No. The Wh figure the BIOS displays is pulled from EEPROM data embedded in the battery pack, and the value stored there reflects the OEM cell's rated chemistry rather than a live measurement. The actual delivered energy from the new cell is correct. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a complete charge — the BIOS typically updates the reported Wh to match the installed pack after the learn cycle completes.
My P950KP6 fuel gauge is jumping around — showing 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes of unplugging. What is causing this?
The fuel gauge IC on these boards needs several full charge and discharge cycles to build an accurate model of the new cell's discharge curve. Until it has that data, it interpolates from the old cell profile and the readings swing wildly. This is not a wiring or BMS fault. Do two complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles with uninterrupted charges to 100% in between, and the gauge will stabilise to within a few percent of actual capacity.
The new battery charges fine but the P957HR stops charging at around 80% and the light just stays solid — it never reaches 100%.
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the cell. Clevo and several OEM notebook vendors ship firmware with a battery conservation mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during prolonged AC use. Check the Clevo Control Center or the power management settings in Windows — there is a battery charge limit toggle. Disable conservation mode or set the threshold to 100%, then reconnect the charger and the pack will charge to full.
