Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Hasee Kingbook T96E / T97 — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 15.2V, 3500mAh (53.2Wh) Li-Polymer cell restores battery functionality to the Hasee Kingbook T96E and Kingbook T97 notebooks. It replaces the original pack when the existing cell can no longer hold adequate charge for portable use. Dimensions are 138.50 × 113.00 × 11.20mm — confirm these against your existing pack before fitting.
- Kingbook T96E and T97 compatibility: Both models share the same 15.2V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol, which is why a single cell fits both. The fuel gauge IC on this platform communicates charge state data back to the BIOS over the same SMBus line on either chassis.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles through the full voltage range. The BMS engaged protection correctly at the low-voltage cutoff and accepted charge from zero without faulting. Cell capacity tracked within spec across repeated cycles.
- First-cycle calibration on the Kingbook platform: After fitting, run the laptop on battery only until it hibernates at the low-voltage cutoff — do not interrupt this. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This one full learn cycle clears the inaccurate health warning the BIOS displays after every cell swap and resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell chemistry.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The Kingbook BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers carried over from the old cell. A fresh pack has not yet written its own cycle history, so the firmware interprets missing or mismatched data as a degraded battery. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration state. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge. After that cycle the BIOS re-reads the updated EEPROM data and the health warning clears.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% shown on the gauge after the swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped its discharge curve to the new cell's actual chemistry. Under combined CPU and display load the voltage drops faster than the uncalibrated gauge predicts, and the BIOS triggers a shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty cell — the gauge simply needs calibration cycles. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full charge cycles back to back. After the second cycle the gauge tracks the new cell accurately and the premature shutdowns stop. Verify the resting voltage reads above 15.0V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Kingbook T97 BIOS is showing the wrong Wh rating after I put in the new battery — it says something different from the 53.2Wh on the label. Is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Wh figure the BIOS displays is pulled from an EEPROM register that stores the rated chemistry data from the original pack — it does not automatically update to the new cell's values until the fuel gauge IC completes a full learn cycle. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the BIOS reads from the updated register and the displayed Wh figure aligns with the replacement cell.
My Hasee Kingbook T96E stopped charging at 80% and won't go any higher — is the new battery faulty?
It is almost certainly not a faulty cell. The Kingbook BIOS includes a firmware-controlled charge limit that caps charging at 80% when battery conservation mode is active. Check the Hasee power management settings or BIOS battery options — this mode is often toggled on by default after a cell swap because the BIOS resets to conservative defaults when it detects a new pack. Disable the charge limit in BIOS or the OS power utility, then charge again. The cell should reach 100% at the charge termination voltage of approximately 17.6V.
The fuel gauge on my Kingbook T96E is jumping around wildly — it reads 60%, then 45%, then 70% within a few minutes of unplugging.
The fuel gauge IC calibrates itself against a cell's discharge curve over multiple cycles. A brand-new cell has no discharge history stored, so the IC interpolates poorly and produces erratic readings in the first few charge-discharge cycles. This is not a hardware fault. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate and full charge-to-100% cycles without interruption. By the end of the second cycle the IC has enough real discharge data to track the new cell accurately and the gauge stabilises.
