Fits Mechrevo Z2 Air, Z2, Z3, and Z3 Pro notebooks; replaces original 15.2V battery pack.
15.2V, 4000mAh (60.8Wh) lithium-polymer cell sustains full CPU and display load without voltage sag.
Connector interfaces with Mechrevo's internal charge circuit; physical fit is 278.80 x 88.70 x 7.00mm.
We bench-tested this cell at full discharge against the Z2 Air's power controller; BMS held steady voltage until cutoff.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mechrevo Z2 Air / Z2 / Z3 / Z3 Pro — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 15.2V, 4000mAh (60.8Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Mechrevo Z2 Air, Z2, Z3, and Z3 Pro laptops. It slots into the original battery bay and connects via the factory harness. Capacity figures come from the product specification — not estimated from third-party sources.

  • Z2 Air, Z2, Z3, and Z3 Pro compatibility: These four models share the same 15.2V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell revision covers all four without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell and monitored BMS communication. The protection circuit held cutoff voltage correctly and reported state-of-charge accurately after calibration cycles were completed.
  • BIOS learn cycle after swap: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell replacement on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after installation

The Mechrevo BIOS reads EEPROM data written during the previous cell's life. When a new cell is installed, that stored data no longer matches the actual cell state. The BIOS interprets the mismatch as degradation and flags health as poor or unknown. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the firmware to rewrite that EEPROM data against the new cell. After two to three full cycles, the health report corrects itself.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell chemistry. The displayed percentage is based on stale capacity data from the old cell, so the system cuts power well before 0% is reached. It is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted recharge cycles — by the third cycle the gauge IC recalculates capacity from real measurements and the shutdown at 20–30% stops. Check that cell voltage at the reported 20% mark is above 14.0V to confirm calibration is progressing correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mechrevo Z2 Air BIOS is showing the new battery as 0% health or "unknown" — did I get a faulty cell?

That reading comes from EEPROM data the BIOS stored for the old cell — it does not reflect the new cell's actual condition. The firmware needs one full discharge-to-hibernate and an uninterrupted charge to 100% before it rewrites that stored data. After two full cycles, the health status corrects. If it still reads unknown after three cycles, check that the connector is fully seated and all four pins are making contact.

The fuel gauge on the Z2 Air is jumping around wildly — showing 60%, then 80%, then 45% within minutes of each other.

The fuel gauge IC is still running calculations against the old cell's capacity profile. Until it collects enough charge and discharge data from the new cell, the percentage readings are unreliable. We saw the same behaviour on the bench for the first two cycles. Run three complete discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles without interrupting the charge — by cycle three the IC locks onto the correct capacity and the gauge stabilises.

The replacement battery on my Z2 Pro is only showing 55.4Wh in system info, but the spec says 60.8Wh — is something wrong?

The Wh figure in system info is pulled from EEPROM data, which is initially written from the previous cell's rated values rather than measured chemistry of the new cell. The actual usable capacity of this cell is 60.8Wh as specified. Once the BIOS completes a full learn cycle — one discharge to hibernate, one uninterrupted charge to 100% — it recalculates and rewrites the Wh value. Confirm the updated figure in your battery report after the first complete cycle.
