Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-C2 MK1 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CF-VZSU80U)
This 10.8V, 8700mAh (93.96Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Panasonic Toughbook CF-C2 MK1 and CF-C2 series rugged notebooks. It matches OEM part numbers CF-VZSU80U, CF-VZSU82U, and CF-VZSU83U. Drop it in and the Toughbook powers up exactly as it did with the factory cell.
- CF-C2 MK1 and CF-C2 compatibility: Both variants share the same 10.8V battery rail, physical connector, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell covers both. No adapter or firmware change needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a CF-C2 MK1 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge terminated cleanly at 100%, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
- First-cycle calibration on the CF-C2: After installing, run the Toughbook down to hibernate cutoff under normal load — screen on, Wi-Fi active — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The CF-C2 BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, which stores cycle count and capacity history from the previous cell. When a fresh cell arrives, that EEPROM data does not match the new chemistry, so the BIOS flags it as degraded. This is a data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge allows the BIOS learn cycle to overwrite the stale EEPROM values. After that cycle, the health warning clears and the reported capacity aligns with the actual 93.96Wh rating.
Toughbook CF-C2 shutting down suddenly at 20–30% charge shown
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. The gauge loses track of the actual state of charge and the reading drifts — the display shows 25% while the cell is already near cutoff voltage. Under full CPU and display load the voltage drops sharply, the BMS trips, and the unit shuts down without warning. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles to let the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's curve. After calibration, the reported percentage tracks accurately and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The CF-C2 is showing the battery as "unknown" or 0% in Windows right after I swapped the cell — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC in the CF-C2 reads the new cell as unknown because it has no calibration data yet — the old EEPROM values no longer match the fresh cell's discharge curve. Run the Toughbook down to hibernate cutoff under real load, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one or two full cycles the gauge maps the new cell and the percentage reads correctly.
My CF-C2 is only charging to 80% and stopping — why won't it go higher?
The CF-C2 BIOS includes a charge-limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during long periods on AC power. This is a firmware control, not a fault with the replacement cell. Go into the Panasonic Battery Recalibration utility or the BIOS power settings and disable the charge threshold limit. Once that setting is off, the cell charges to 100%.
Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says something much lower than 93.96Wh in the power report. What's causing that?
The Wh figure Windows displays is pulled from the EEPROM on the battery itself, which carries the rated value programmed at manufacture. On a fresh replacement cell that has not yet completed a calibration cycle, the reported figure can differ from the actual 93.96Wh chemistry capacity. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle the BIOS learn routine updates the stored value and the system power report reflects the correct Wh rating.
