Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Machenike F57 Series — 11.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (6-87-N550S-4E41)
This 11.4V 4000mAh (45.6Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Machenike F57-D4, F57-D3, F57-D5R, and F57-D2 notebooks. It matches OEM part numbers 6-87-N550S-4E41, 6-87-N550S-4E42, 6-87-N550S-4E43, and N550BAT-3. Physical dimensions are 250.40 × 85.70 × 8.20mm — verify fitment against your existing cell before installing.
- F57 platform compatibility: The F57-D2 through F57-D5R share the same three-cell Li-Polymer pack with an identical voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one SKU covers all variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an F57-series board. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, balanced across all three cells within two cycles, and held stable voltage under combined CPU and display load.
- Post-install calibration on the F57: After fitting, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low-charge cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the new cell
The F57's BIOS reads EEPROM data embedded in the battery pack to calculate health percentage. When a new cell is installed, the EEPROM values don't yet match the charge history the BIOS expects, so it flags the pack as degraded. This is a calibration state, not a fault with the cell itself. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS recalculates health against the new cell's actual data and the warning clears.
F57 shutting down at 20–30% battery shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC maps a voltage reading to a percentage based on the old cell's characteristics, so it underestimates remaining charge and the laptop hits the low-voltage cutoff earlier than displayed. The cell isn't faulty — the gauge needs two to three full discharge-charge cycles to re-map correctly. After those cycles, the shutdown point should realign with the displayed percentage near 5–8%.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Machenike F57 shows the battery Wh rating as incorrect in system info after swapping this cell — is something wrong with the battery?
The Wh figure shown in Windows or HWiNFO pulls from EEPROM data stored in the battery pack's controller chip. The new cell's EEPROM reports rated chemistry capacity, which can differ slightly from the system's cached figure for the original cell. This is a data mismatch between the old record and the new pack — not a fault. Clear the cached battery data by running a full discharge-to-hibernate cycle, then recheck system info at 100% charge.
The F57 fuel gauge is jumping around — showing 60%, then 45%, then 55% within the same session after fitting the replacement battery.
The fuel gauge IC on the F57 board calibrates its state-of-charge model against charge and discharge data it accumulates over time. With a brand-new cell, it has no learned curve to reference, so voltage-to-percentage mapping is inaccurate and erratic. Run two to three complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100% each time. After those cycles the IC builds an accurate model and the gauge stabilises.
The F57 won't charge above 80% after I installed the new battery — the charging indicator just stops.
The F57 BIOS includes a charge-limit firmware setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during daily use. Check the Machenike Control Center software or BIOS power settings — there is a battery care or charge limit toggle that sets the ceiling. Switch it to full charge mode (100%) and reconnect the adapter. The battery itself has no charge-cap circuitry at 80%; the limit is entirely firmware-controlled on this platform.
