Fits Gigabyte Aorus X3 PLUS V3 laptop; replaces OEM part number GX-17S.
14.8V at 4900mAh (72.52Wh) matches original capacity for full-day unplugged sessions.
Connector seats flush into the battery bay slot with positive contact alignment verified.
We cycled this cell through full charge-discharge on the Aorus platform; BMS stabilized within two cycles.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gigabyte Aorus X3 PLUS V3 — 14.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GX-17S)

This is a 14.8V, 4900mAh (72.52Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Gigabyte Aorus X3 PLUS V3 gaming notebook. It also fits the Aorus X3, Aorus X3 PLUS V5, and Aorus X7. It uses OEM part number GX-17S and connects via the same multi-pin connector as the factory cell.

  • Aorus X3 and X7 platform fit: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the GX-17S cell through charge and discharge cycles on an Aorus platform, confirmed the BMS initialised without fault codes, and verified cell voltage held within spec under sustained CPU and GPU load.
  • Post-install calibration for the Aorus X3: After fitting, run the laptop off battery until it hibernates from low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Why the Aorus X3 BIOS reports poor battery health after a cell swap

The BIOS stores battery health data in EEPROM tied to the original cell's charge history. When a new cell is installed, that stored data no longer matches the actual cell state, so the system flags it as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement — it is stale firmware data. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge gives the BIOS enough cycle data to recalibrate its health estimate. After two to three full cycles the reported health figure typically normalises.

Aorus X3 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The displayed percentage is based on the old cell's curve, so the system hits a voltage cliff before the gauge reaches 0%. The fix is to complete two or three full discharge cycles — all the way to hibernate cutoff — followed by full charges. After those cycles the fuel gauge IC maps its readings to the new cell and the shutdowns stop. Target a resting open-circuit voltage of around 16.6V–16.8V at full charge to confirm the cell is performing correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Aorus X3 BIOS is showing the new battery as 0% health — is the replacement cell dead on arrival?

It is not a faulty cell. The BIOS reads health data stored in EEPROM from the original battery, and that data does not match the new cell, so it reports a false fault. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle is usually enough to clear the 0% or "unknown" health flag.

My Aorus X3 PLUS V3 is cutting out at around 25% battery shown — it was fine before the swap.

The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to the old cell's voltage curve over time. With a new cell installed, the curve is different, so the gauge hits a voltage cliff before it reaches 0% on screen and the laptop shuts down. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by complete charges. The gauge re-maps itself to the new cell and the early cutoffs stop.

System information is showing the wrong Wh rating for the new GX-17S cell — it does not match the 72.52Wh spec.

The Wh value the OS reads comes from the EEPROM data embedded in the battery's fuel gauge IC, which stores a rated figure set during cell manufacture. That figure can differ slightly from the actual measured capacity of the replacement cell. This is a display-only discrepancy — it does not affect charge or discharge behaviour. Confirm actual cell health by checking the full-charge voltage at the connector: a healthy GX-17S cell should read approximately 16.6V–16.8V at 100%.
