Fits Maibenben 4S laptop models; replaces OEM battery designation for this notebook.
14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) Li-Polymer cell sustains full CPU and display load on this ultrabook without voltage sag.
Connector seats flush into the Maibenben 4S dock with single-stage latch; orientation marked on both cell and slot.
Bench testing showed clean voltage hold across discharge curve; BMS accepted the cell on first insertion without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Maibenben 4S — 14.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Maibenben 4S laptop. It fits the 4S notebook directly and restores full unplugged operation when the original cell has degraded or failed to hold charge. Voltage and capacity match the original specification.

  • Maibenben 4S compatibility: The 4S platform draws from a single battery rail at 14.8V with a four-cell Li-Polymer configuration. This replacement matches that cell count and voltage, so the BMS handshake between battery and motherboard completes without fault codes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under CPU and display load. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and the charge controller brought it to 100% without interruption or thermal event.
  • First-cycle reset on the 4S: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff on a normal workload, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This forces the BIOS learn cycle to register the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why the Maibenben 4S BIOS reports poor battery health after a cell swap

The BIOS on the 4S reads health data from EEPROM stored in the original battery pack — not from live cell measurements. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM data is gone, and the firmware flags the pack as degraded because it has no charge history to reference. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate then an uninterrupted full charge gives the BIOS enough data to recalibrate and clear the warning. After two or three cycles the health readout stabilises.

Laptop shutting down at 20–30% remaining after the battery swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC on the motherboard is still calibrated to the wear curve of the old, degraded cell. The gauge predicts a voltage cliff at 20–30% because that is where the old cell actually failed under load. The new cell can sustain voltage well below that point, but the firmware does not know it yet. Run two full discharge cycles down to hibernate cutoff and the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate against the new cell's actual voltage curve — shutdowns at false-low readings stop after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Maibenben 4S shows 0% or "battery unknown" immediately after fitting the new cell — is the battery faulty?

No. The fuel gauge IC on the 4S motherboard lost its reference data when the old cell was removed, so it reports 0% or unknown until it builds a new charge history. Plug in the charger and let the battery reach 100% uninterrupted, then discharge fully to hibernate cutoff. After that first complete cycle the gauge has enough data to read accurately.

Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says something different from 59.2Wh in the system report.

The Wh figure Windows displays is pulled from the EEPROM of the old pack and may still be cached in the battery report even after the swap. Run the command `powercfg /batteryreport` after completing one full discharge-to-hibernate and a full charge — the report will reflect the actual capacity of the new cell. If the figure still looks off, it is a display artefact in the cached report, not a capacity fault in the cell.

The Maibenben 4S stops charging at 80% and will not go higher — is something wrong with this replacement battery?

Charge limiting at 80% is a BIOS-controlled firmware setting on some Maibenben configurations, not a fault in the replacement cell. Check the power or battery settings in the BIOS setup screen — there is often a "Battery Life" or "Charge Limit" option that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear. Disable that setting, save, and reboot — the battery will then charge to 100%.
