Fits Alienware M15X and M15RX notebooks replacing OEM part 36539419s.
14.8V at 4000mAh delivers 59.2Wh total capacity for full session runtime on this gaming laptop.
Connector seats flat against the battery bay wall with a single locking tab on the left side.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted charge current immediately; voltage climbed linearly to 14.8V with no cutoff anomalies.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Byone Alienware M15X / M15RX — 14.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (36539419s)

This is a 14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Alienware M15X and M15RX gaming laptops. It uses OEM part number 36539419s and connects directly to the original battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity match Dell's original specification for these two models.

  • M15X and M15RX platform fitment: Both models share the same 14.8V four-cell battery architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol with the Alienware EC firmware. One cell fits both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the M15X platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the EC, charge current ramped as expected, and the cell hit rated capacity at cutoff.
  • First-cycle discharge reset: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at cutoff — do not interrupt it. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single cycle resets the BIOS battery learn sequence and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears immediately after any cell swap on Alienware hardware.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor after swapping in a new cell

The Alienware M15X stores battery health data in EEPROM on the original cell. When a new cell is installed, the BIOS reads that stored data as mismatched and flags a health warning — even though the new cell is physically fine. This is not a fault with the replacement; it is a firmware response to changed EEPROM values. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% to force the BIOS to rewrite the learn cycle against the new cell. After two to three full cycles the health indicator should read normal.

Laptop shutting down at 20–30% shown on the gauge

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. The gauge shows 25% remaining but the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the EC's cutoff threshold under full CPU and GPU load. The laptop shuts down because the real voltage — not the reported percentage — hit the floor. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles without interrupting the charge, and the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate its curve against the new cell's actual voltage behaviour. After recalibration, shutdown should not occur above 5% reported charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My M15X BIOS is showing the replacement battery as 0% or "unknown" — is the cell dead out of the box?

No. The M15X EC reads EEPROM data written by the original cell and flags a mismatch when it sees a new one. The cell itself is not faulty. Run it down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle rewrites the BIOS health data against the new cell and clears the unknown or 0% reading.

Windows is reporting 59Wh in system info but the battery properties screen shows a different design capacity — which is correct?

The 59.2Wh figure from the cell's EEPROM is what Windows reads at first boot. The design capacity field in battery properties pulls from a separate EC register that may still hold the old cell's rated value until a learn cycle completes. Run two full discharge-and-charge cycles and both values should converge to 59.2Wh. If they still differ after three cycles, check Device Manager for a stale ACPI battery driver entry and remove it, then reboot.

The M15X stopped charging at 80% and just sits there — what is blocking it?

The Alienware BIOS on M15X and M15RX includes a charge limit setting that caps charge at 80% to reduce cell stress during long plugged-in sessions. This is a firmware control, not a battery fault. Open Alienware Command Center, navigate to Power Management, and check whether the charge limit is set to 80%. Set it to 100% and the cell will charge to full on the next cycle.
