Fits Ifunk STE003 and STE003A laptops, replacing the OEM 14.8V lithium-polymer pack that ships with these models.
14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) chemistry sustains full CPU and display load without voltage sag or early shutdown.
Connector seats flush into the STE003 battery bay with positive-negative alignment confirmed; locking tab engages at 45 degrees.
We bench-cycled this cell against the STE003 fuel gauge IC — BMS accepted the charge handshake on first insert, no fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% to reset the BIOS battery learn cycle and clear health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ifunk STE003 / STE003A — 14.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Ifunk STE003 and STE003A laptops. It replaces the original cell when capacity has degraded or the pack no longer holds charge. No OEM part number is published for this model — fit is confirmed by voltage, physical dimensions, and connector match.

  • STE003 and STE003A compatibility: Both models run the same 14.8V power rail with an identical connector and BMS handshake. The cell measures 212.70 × 68.35 × 13.50mm — physically interchangeable between the two variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge, load, and BMS cutoff on the bench. The protection circuit responded correctly at both high and low voltage limits, and the cell held stable output under sustained CPU and display load.
  • First-cycle calibration on the STE003: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge down to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The STE003 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM embedded in the battery pack. When a new cell is installed, that EEPROM data does not match the history the BIOS accumulated from the old pack, so it flags the battery as degraded or unknown. This is a data mismatch — not a fault with the new cell. Running a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% gives the BIOS enough data to write a fresh baseline. After one or two complete cycles, the health warning clears.

Laptop cuts out at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell and the displayed percentage no longer maps accurately to actual cell voltage. Under full CPU and display load, the new cell hits a voltage cliff the gauge did not anticipate, and the system shuts down as a protection measure. The fix is calibration: discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff and recharge to 100% without interruption — repeat this two or three times. After those cycles, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's actual voltage curve and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My STE003 shows 0% or "unknown battery" right after I put in the new cell — is the replacement faulty?

It is not faulty. The BIOS is reading EEPROM data it does not recognise from the new pack and flagging it as unknown. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle gives the BIOS a fresh baseline to write against, and the 0% or unknown reading clears.

The Wh rating shown in Windows battery report doesn't match the 59.2Wh on the listing — which is right?

Windows reads the Wh figure stored in the battery's EEPROM, which reflects the rated chemistry value written at manufacture. The product data figure of 59.2Wh is the actual measured capacity of this cell. A small difference between the two is normal and does not indicate a problem. If the gap is large, run two full calibration cycles — discharge to hibernate, charge to 100% — and Windows will update its reported value as the fuel gauge IC recalibrates.

New battery charges to 100% the first time, but after a few days it only charges to 80% and stops — what changed?

Some STE003 firmware versions include a BIOS-controlled charge limit that activates after a set number of cycles to reduce cell stress. This is a firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Check the power management settings in the BIOS under battery care or charge threshold options. If a charge limit is enabled, set the upper threshold back to 100% and the cell will charge fully again.
