Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bben G16S / G16X / G17 / G16A — 14.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This is a 14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Bben G16S, G16X, G17, and G16A laptops. It restores mobile power to the notebook when the original cell has degraded or failed. No OEM part number is listed for this SKU — match your existing battery label against the fit models above before ordering.
- G16S / G16X / G17 / G16A compatibility: These four Bben models share the same 14.8V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same physical footprint at 212.70 × 68.35 × 13.50mm. The BMS on each platform uses the same charge termination voltage, so one cell works across the entire group.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the G16S platform. The BMS accepted the replacement without rejecting the handshake, charge current ramped normally through CC into CV, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at undervoltage cutoff.
- Post-install calibration cycle: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff on battery alone — no AC — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This gives the BIOS fuel gauge IC a full reference sweep against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after installation
The Bben G16S stores cycle count, design capacity, and health data in EEPROM on the old battery's BMS board. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM data is gone. The BIOS reads the blank or mismatched values and flags the battery as degraded or unknown — even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% lets the fuel gauge IC write fresh calibration data and the health warning clears on the next boot.
Laptop shuts off at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This is a voltage-cliff symptom. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge expects — the gauge still reads 20–30% but the actual cell voltage has already hit the BMS low-voltage cutoff threshold. It is most common in the first few cycles on a new cell before the fuel gauge IC has calibrated its discharge curve. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full charge cycles without interruption. After calibration, the percentage reading and the actual cutoff voltage align, and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Bben G16S shows "0% available (plugged in, charging)" after I put in the new battery — is the cell dead?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The G16S fuel gauge IC lost its reference data when the old battery was removed, so it has no baseline to calculate state of charge against the new cell. Let the laptop charge uninterrupted to 100%, then run it down to hibernate on battery alone without plugging in. After that one full cycle the IC has a discharge curve to work from and the percentage reading returns to normal.
Windows reports the Bben G16S battery design capacity as much lower than the 59.2Wh on the label — why?
The Wh figure Windows reads comes from EEPROM data written to the original battery's BMS, not from the physical cell chemistry. A replacement cell ships with either blank EEPROM or values from a different batch, so the OS may report 40–50Wh instead of 59.2Wh. Run two full calibration cycles — discharge to hibernate, charge to 100% — and the fuel gauge IC will recalculate full charge capacity against the actual cell and update the reported figure closer to spec.
The new battery charged to 100% once but now stops at 80% every time — did something break?
Check the Bben BIOS under power or battery settings. Many Bben laptops ship with a charge limit mode active — typically a 60% or 80% cap — intended to reduce calendar aging during AC-connected use. This is a firmware-controlled threshold, not a battery fault. Enter BIOS setup, locate the battery charge limit or health mode option, and set it to 100%. Save and exit, then plug in and confirm the charge continues past 80%.
