Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion Akoya E6245 — 11.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (0B23-01Q9000M)

This 11.4V, 3700mAh (42.18Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Medion Akoya E6245 notebook. It fits all MSN variants of the E6245, including MD 61126, MD 61262, and MD 61275. OEM part numbers 40068772 and A31-M15 are also covered by this single unit.

  • Akoya E6245 variant coverage: Every E6245 MSN variant uses the same 11.4V three-cell Li-Polymer architecture with an identical connector pinout and BMS handshake. One battery fits the full range without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the E6245 platform and logged BMS charge termination, cell balancing, and thermal response across full discharge. The BMS cut in cleanly at both ends of the voltage window with no false trips.
  • BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after swapping cells on the E6245.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting a new cell

The Akoya E6245 BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM and compares it against charge history from the previous cell. A brand-new cell has no accumulated charge history, so the BIOS flags it as degraded immediately after installation. This is a firmware interpretation issue, not a fault with the replacement battery. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate then an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS recalculates health from the new cycle data and the warning clears.

Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge estimates remaining capacity using data from the old, degraded cell and calls a shutdown when the displayed percentage is still well above zero. The fix is two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles — these let the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's real voltage cliff. After calibration, the displayed percentage at shutdown drops to the correct range near 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The system info panel shows the wrong Wh rating after I installed this battery — is the cell faulty?

No. The Wh figure shown in Windows or the BIOS is pulled from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated capacity written at manufacture. The actual electrochemical capacity of a fresh Li-Polymer cell can differ slightly from that stored value until the fuel gauge IC runs calibration cycles. Complete two full discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles and the reported Wh figure will settle to an accurate reading.

The fuel gauge is jumping around — showing 60%, then 80%, then 45% within minutes of unplugging

The fuel gauge IC on the E6245 uses voltage-curve data from the previous cell to estimate charge state. With a new cell installed, those reference points are wrong, so the gauge overcorrects and produces erratic readings. This is normal for the first two or three cycles. Run the battery from 100% down to hibernate cutoff twice without interrupting the charge, and the gauge IC will lock onto the new cell's actual discharge curve and stabilise.

My Akoya E6245 stops charging at 80% and will not go higher — is this a defective battery?

Not a battery fault. The E6245 BIOS includes a charge-limit feature that caps charging at 80% when it is enabled — typically found under a battery care or health mode setting in the BIOS setup screen. Enter BIOS on startup, navigate to the battery or power section, and disable the charge threshold. Once that setting is off, the battery will charge to 100%.
