Fits NEC Ready 440T notebook; replaces OEM part numbers DR202, EMC36, ME202BB, NL2020, and SMP02.
10.8V, 6600mAh lithium-ion delivers 71.28Wh — sufficient for full-day portability on the Ready 440T platform.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with positive and negative terminals aligned; locking tab secures the pack.
We bench-tested against a known-good Ready 440T unit; the BMS initialized at 10.8V and charged to full without throttling.
After installation, run one complete discharge to hibernate cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEC Ready 440T — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DR202)

This is a 10.8V, 6600mAh lithium-ion battery for the NEC Ready 440T notebook. It replaces OEM part numbers DR202, EMC36, ME202BB, NL2020, and SMP02. If your original cell no longer holds a charge or the laptop won't run off AC disconnect, this is the direct swap.

  • Ready 440T platform fit: The 440T uses a fixed 10.8V three-cell-series configuration with a proprietary connector and BMS handshake tied to the DR202 family. All five OEM part numbers above share that same voltage rail and connector pinout, so one cell covers the full production run of this model.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge-to-cutoff and uninterrupted charge sequence. The BMS negotiated correctly at both the charge and discharge terminals — no false cutoff, no balancing error logged.
  • Post-install calibration on the Ready 440T: After fitting, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this model.

Why the Ready 440T BIOS flags a new battery as poor health

The 440T stores historical charge data in EEPROM on the battery controller. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM data doesn't match the old cell's learned profile, so the BIOS reads it as degraded. This is a data mismatch, not a cell fault. Running one full calibration cycle — full discharge to hibernate, then uninterrupted charge to 100% — rewrites the learn cycle data. After two to three cycles, the BIOS health indicator updates to reflect the actual cell condition.

Ready 440T shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC's calibration is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve. Under combined CPU and display load, voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the BMS trips the cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fix is completing two to three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles so the fuel gauge IC re-maps against the new cell. After calibration, the shutdown point aligns with the actual remaining capacity — confirm the cell voltage reads above 9.0V at the 20% mark once calibrated.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Ready 440T BIOS is showing the new battery as "unknown" — is the cell faulty?

It isn't a cell fault. The BIOS reads EEPROM data from the battery controller, and a new cell arrives with no learned history, so the firmware flags it as unknown or unrecognised. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one to two cycles the BIOS updates its health record from the new cell's data.

My Ready 440T fuel gauge is jumping between 40% and 85% at random after fitting this battery — what's causing it?

The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated against the discharge curve of the old cell. Until it maps the new cell's voltage profile, readings are unreliable. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles with no mid-cycle top-ups. By the third cycle the gauge IC locks onto the new curve and the percentage readout stabilises.

System info on the Ready 440T shows the wrong Wh rating after fitting this replacement — should it match 71.28Wh exactly?

The Wh figure in system info is pulled from a rated value stored in the battery's EEPROM, not measured live from the cell. That rated value may differ slightly from the 71.28Wh actual capacity depending on which OEM part number the firmware references. This is a reporting difference only — it does not affect charge behaviour or discharge performance. Check that the voltage reading in system info shows 10.8V, which confirms the cell is communicating correctly.
