Fits XMG P505-6OH, XMG P505-8AK, XMG P706, XMG P705 and related Schenker notebooks with 14.8V lithium-ion cells.
14.8V, 4000mAh rated capacity restores full unplugged runtime after charge cycle wear on this gaming laptop.
Connector seats straight into the battery slot; locking tab engages on the left side of the bay.
We bench-tested this cell against the XMG charging circuit; BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion without fault codes.
After installation, discharge the laptop to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears false health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Schenker XMG P505 / P706 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Schenker XMG P505-6OH, XMG P505-8AK, XMG P706, XMG P705, and related models. It restores unplugged capacity after the original cell has degraded through charge cycles. Voltage, connector pinout, and physical dimensions match the factory battery spec.

  • XMG P505 and P706 platform fit: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell battery architecture, connector layout, and BMS communication protocol. That common platform is why a single replacement cell covers the full range — the voltage rail and handshake requirements are identical across the group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through charge and discharge cycles under sustained CPU and GPU load. The BMS communicated correctly with the host, reported state-of-charge without error flags, and held voltage within spec at peak draw.
  • BIOS learn cycle after installation: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after swapping cells.

Why the XMG P505 shuts down at 20–30% battery shown

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old degraded cell. The new cell has higher actual capacity, but the IC maps that to the old voltage curve. Under full CPU and discrete GPU load, the cell hits a voltage cliff the IC did not expect, and the system cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Running two full discharge-to-hibernate then full-recharge cycles recalibrates the IC to the new cell's real voltage curve and stops the premature shutdown.

Battery reporting 0% or "unknown" immediately after swap

The BIOS reads EEPROM data embedded in the battery to identify chemistry, rated capacity, and cycle count. When a new cell is installed, that EEPROM data is unfamiliar to the system and can trigger an "unknown" or 0% reading on first boot. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Boot into the BIOS, confirm the battery is detected on the power or hardware info page, then allow a full charge cycle to complete — the system will reconcile the EEPROM data and display correctly within one to two cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

The XMG P505 shows the new battery as "poor health" in the BIOS right after I installed it — is the cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The BIOS carries health data from the previous cell's EEPROM and flags any new cell as degraded until it completes a learn cycle. Run the laptop unplugged until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one full cycle the BIOS health status updates to reflect the new cell.

My XMG P706's fuel gauge is jumping around — showing 60%, then 45%, then back up — after fitting the replacement cell.

The fuel gauge IC learned its calibration table from the old degraded cell and does not yet know the new cell's voltage curve. The erratic readings settle after two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles, which force the IC to re-map the new cell. Do not interrupt those first cycles mid-charge. By the third full cycle the gauge should track within a few percent of actual.

Windows shows the new Schenker battery as 59Wh in Settings but the BIOS lists a different Wh figure — which one is correct?

The BIOS reads the Wh value stored in the battery's EEPROM, which reflects the manufacturer's rated figure for that cell. Windows calculates Wh dynamically from the fuel gauge IC's current voltage and capacity estimates, which shift during the first few cycles as the IC calibrates. The product data Wh rating of 59.2Wh is the authoritative spec. The two figures converge after the fuel gauge IC completes calibration — check again after three full charge cycles.
