Thunderobot ST-Pro Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.8V, 4000mAh (59.2Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Thunderobot ST-Pro, ST Pro-P1, ST Pro-670016G512G10606GWS, and ST-R3 laptops. It slots into the original battery bay and connects to the same power rail the motherboard expects. Capacity figures are from product data, not estimates.
- ST-Pro and ST-R3 platform fit: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell swap covers the full range without any adapter or firmware workaround.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on ST-Pro hardware. The BMS communicated correctly with the system, reported state-of-charge without error flags, and held voltage stable under sustained CPU and GPU load.

The ST-Pro BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers on the battery controller, not from live voltage. When you fit a new cell, those registers still reflect wear data from the old pack. The system flags it as degraded before the new cell has run a single cycle. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge overwrites the learn cycle and forces the BIOS to recalculate health against the new cell's actual capacity. After one or two cycles, the health indicator returns to normal.
ST-Pro shutting down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This is a voltage cliff — the cell can no longer sustain the voltage the CPU and display demand under full load, even though the fuel gauge still shows remaining capacity. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated against an old discharge curve, so it reads high while actual cell voltage drops below the motherboard's cutoff threshold. The fix is a full calibration cycle: discharge fully to automatic hibernate, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After two cycles the fuel gauge IC maps its readings to the new cell's actual curve and the early shutdowns stop.

The fuel gauge IC on the ST-Pro reads capacity data from EEPROM registers written by the original cell. A fresh cell ships with different register values, so Windows reports unknown or zero until the system recalibrates. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the IC maps correctly and the percentage reads accurately.
The ST-Pro BIOS shows a Wh rating that doesn't match the 59.2Wh spec on the listing — is the cell wrong?
No — this is an EEPROM mismatch, not a capacity fault. The BIOS reads a rated Wh figure stored in the battery controller's firmware registers, which may differ slightly from the cell's actual measured chemistry. The physical capacity is 4000mAh at 14.8V, which is 59.2Wh. Run a full calibration cycle and the system info display will update to reflect real measured values from the new cell.
The ST-Pro stops charging at around 80% and won't go higher — is this a faulty cell?
Almost always this is the BIOS charge-limit setting, not the cell. Thunderobot's firmware includes a battery conservation mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during extended AC use. Check the Thunderobot control centre software or BIOS power settings and disable the conservation or battery care mode. Once that toggle is off, plug in and charge — the cell will reach 100%.
