Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony VAIO FH14 Series — 15.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 15.2V, 3050mAh (46.36Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Sony VAIO FH14 notebook line. It fits the VAIO FH14, VAIO FH 14 Ultra, VJFH41C0101B, VJFH41C0101N, and over 45 additional VAIO FH-series variants. Voltage and connector match the original cell exactly.
- VAIO FH series compatibility: All listed FH-series models run the same 15.2V battery rail, use the same physical connector, and share BMS handshake protocols — which is why a single cell covers this many variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a VAIO FH-series unit. The BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion, charge current ramped normally, and the cell held voltage through discharge without early cutoff.
- Post-install calibration for VAIO FH14: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff on battery only — no AC during discharge — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement
The VAIO BIOS reads health data from EEPROM embedded in the battery pack. When a new cell arrives, its EEPROM values haven't been aligned to your system's charge history, so the BIOS flags it as degraded even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it's a data mismatch. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the BIOS recalculates health against the new cell's actual characteristics.
Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the cell's voltage drops sharply under combined CPU and display load — a voltage cliff where the fuel gauge IC still reads 20–30% but the cell can no longer sustain the draw. On the VAIO FH14, full-brightness display plus active processor pulls enough current to trigger this cliff faster than the gauge updates. The fuel gauge IC needs two to three full calibration cycles against the new cell before its readings stabilise. After three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles, the gauge tracks the actual cell voltage curve and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VAIO FH14 shows the new battery as "unknown" or 0% in Windows — is it defective?
The fuel gauge IC in the VAIO FH14 loses its reference data when the old cell is removed and needs cycles against the new cell to rebuild it. Windows pulls that unresolved data and displays "unknown" or 0% until calibration catches up. Run the laptop on battery to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — repeat this two to three times. After three full cycles the fuel gauge IC has enough data to report accurately.
Windows says the new battery is only 46Wh but my original showed a higher Wh rating — did I get the wrong cell?
The Wh figure Windows reports comes from the EEPROM on the battery pack, not from a live measurement. The original cell's EEPROM held the rated value from Sony's factory programming, which sometimes reflects a nominal design spec rather than the actual cell chemistry installed. This replacement is rated at 46.36Wh — 15.2V at 3050mAh — which is the correct spec for the FH14 series. If the displayed figure still seems off after a full calibration cycle, check the reading in the VAIO Care utility rather than Windows Device Manager, as the BIOS-level readout is more accurate.
The new battery stopped charging at 80% and won't go higher — is there a fault?
The VAIO BIOS includes a firmware-controlled charge limit that caps charging at 80% when Battery Care Function is enabled in VAIO Care or the BIOS power settings. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it's a deliberate BIOS setting applied equally to original and replacement cells. Open VAIO Care, navigate to Battery, and switch Battery Care Function off. The cell will then charge to 100% on the next charge cycle.
