Fits Thunderobot MixBook Air laptop; replaces OEM part number L140BAT-4.
7.7V and 9300mAh capacity restores full charge cycles on the MixBook Air without shutdowns mid-session.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with the locking tab oriented toward the keyboard end.
We ran full discharge and recharge cycles on the bench; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes.
After installation, run one complete discharge to sleep-mode cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Thunderobot MixBook Air — 7.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L140BAT-4)

This is a 7.7V, 9300mAh (71.61Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Thunderobot MixBook Air laptop. It fits directly using the OEM part number L140BAT-4 and restores portable power to the notebook. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or the system reports degraded battery health.

  • MixBook Air fitment: The MixBook Air uses a slim 5.40mm Li-Polymer cell with a specific connector orientation and BMS handshake tied to the L140BAT-4 part number. Any cell outside that spec will either fail to communicate with the BIOS or trigger an immediate health warning on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench, monitoring BMS communication, cutoff voltage behaviour, and charge acceptance across the full capacity range. The cell completed the cycle without thermal event or premature cutoff.
  • Post-install calibration on the MixBook Air: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff under normal load, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why the MixBook Air BIOS flags the replacement cell as poor health on first boot

The MixBook Air stores battery health data in EEPROM on the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM data no longer matches, and the BIOS reads the mismatch as a fault. The laptop did not fail — the health metric is simply calibrated against the old cell's stored data. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge cycle rewrites the learn data against the new cell and clears the warning.

MixBook Air shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge loses accuracy at the low end and the system hits the hardware voltage floor before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles — by the third cycle the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and shutdowns stop occurring above 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MixBook Air is showing 0% or "unknown battery" in Windows right after I put the new cell in — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Windows fuel gauge IC reads EEPROM data from the previous battery, and when that data is gone it reports 0% or unknown until it builds a new profile. Run the laptop down to hibernate on battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one full cycle, Windows will recognise the cell and display an accurate percentage.

My MixBook Air BIOS health screen is showing the replacement battery as "worn" or below 50% — but it's brand new. Why?

The BIOS health figure is calculated against the original cell's stored EEPROM capacity data. A new cell has no matching EEPROM record, so the BIOS interprets the mismatch as degradation. This is a read error, not a physical fault. Complete one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge, and the BIOS will reset the learn cycle against the actual cell chemistry.

System info in Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says something lower than 71.61Wh. Is the cell underspec?

The Wh figure displayed in Windows pulls from the EEPROM on the cell, which stores the rated design capacity from the manufacturer. Until the fuel gauge IC runs at least one full calibration cycle, it may display the design-capacity floor rather than the actual measured capacity. Run a full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycle, then check the reported Wh figure in Battery Report — it should read close to 71.61Wh after calibration.
